We had the good fortune of connecting with Opal Singleton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Opal, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Social Media Exploitation is one of the fastest growing crimes in the world. There are several driving factors that have caused a major increase in the number of victims being scammed by predators, pedophiles, and organized criminal enterprises. Artificial Intelligence, Mass Audience Live Streaming, Digital Currency, Geo Location Software, Sophisticated Dating Sites and Global Online Gaming Chatrooms all create access to potential victims including an 80 year old grandfather, a middle aged executive or your 9 year old daughter or son.

Opal Singleton is the President and CEO of Million Kids, a 501C3 Non Profit organization that is dedicated to keeping kids safe from predators. We have a team of people who have educated more than 700,000 leaders, parents and teens about sextortion, social media exploitation, human trafficking and how technology is used to access, groom, recruit and exploit innocent individuals that are seeking relationships online. Million Kids works with law enforcement and parents when a child runs away and we have distributed millions of flyers to help locate kids that may be in danger.

Our most important work is to help parents and kids understand about the crime of Sextortion. Sextortion is one of the fastest changing crimes and it will ultimately affect all of us. Often a pedophile will seduce a minor online and lure them into sending a nude and the blackmail begins. Sometimes it is an individual pedophile, other times it is groups of pedophiles seeking more photos to continue a blackmail relationship. The past several months we have seen a massive increase in organized criminal centers in third world countries seducing young males into sending nudes and then they blackmail them for thousands of dollars. Some of the victims harm themselves or take their own lives.

Million Kids does massive amounts of education to help prepare both adults and minors about the crime of sextortion. With Artificial Intelligence we will see this crime of sextortion greatly expand as criminals learn to alter innocent images online and then demand money to keep them from sharing the images to friends and family. With AI, no one will be safe. Everyone can become a victim of blackmail including executives, civic leaders, married and single adults and our kids are vulnerable because of so many images posted online.

The work of Million Kids is critical to educate the public about how criminal enterprise use technology , and to ensure kids understand and will be cautious online. More importantly, that our young people learn to be leaders so they can teach others how A.I. and Sextortion schemes are used to blackmail innocent people and be willing to work with law enforcement to report, investigate and prosecute perpetrators of this heinous crime.

What should our readers know about your business?
Million Kids actually started in 2008 with Pastor Kerry Decker and supporting anti trafficking efforts in Cambodia. In 2010, Opal Singleton joined with Million Kids and the Riverside County Anti Human Trafficking Task Force and we have worked closely with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department serving as the Training and Outreach Coordinator for the the Riverside County Anti Human Trafficking Task Force. Over the past 14 years, we have educated around 700,000 individuals and been involved in helping locate many missing and run away kids. We are known for our research. The crimes of human exploitation is fast changing because of a technology transformation and what sets us apart from other organizations is our tens of thousands of house of research. Opal Singleton conducts significant research on sex and labor trafficking, dark web pedophile rings, bulletproof hosting, sextortion, social media exploitation, gang trafficking, cartel trafficking and money laundering. Our goal is to “Train the Trainer” by sharing the research information with a large number of other advocacy organizations so they can stay current with trends and technologies that are changing daily. The constant research of these heavy topics is challenging but crucial if we are going to stay ahead of how predators and pedophiles and organized crime operates.

Million Kids hosts a weekly radio show on AM 590 (The Answer) every Saturday afternoon at 3:00. The show is titled “Exploited: Crimes and Technolgy.” The purpose of the show is to educate the public about sex trafficking and social media exploitation and how to protect your family. Opal Singleton is also the author of two books related to grooming. “Seduced: The Grooming of America’s Teenagers” and “Societal Shift: A World Without Borders and a Home Without Walls” which addresses the issue of how the technology transformation is changing how criminals use technology to access, groom, recruit and exploit Kids. Million Kids is a Co Executive Producer of a long form film featured on Amazon and Apple Tv titled: “Sextortion: The Hidden Pandemic”. Opal is also certified as a law enforcement instructor for human trafficking. She is an Instructor at USC Safe Communities to educate law enforcement throughout California about human trafficking.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I have four favorite restaurants in Riverside. For a wonderful quite, romantic and upscale dinner we choose, Monarck Bistro next to Ralphs in Canyon Crest Town Center. Love the food, the people and the atmosphere. For Italian, you can’t beat Mamma Mias on Magnolia near La Sierra. Alex is the manager and two of the owners are Micheal and Joseph. Great food, great friends and always upbeat and enjoyable. For a more exclusive evening, we chose Le Chat Noir (The Black Cat) on Magnolia in Riverside. Adrian is the best. Fabulous wine, and the food is heavenly. I especially love the Shrimp with whole grain mustard sauce for the appetizer and they make the best fish (halibut) dish ever. Of course if I had friends we would probably grab a round of golf at Victoria Country Club and meet with friends in the lounge.

We definitely would start at our home as we live on four acres and I am an avid gardener, painter and glass artist so it is always fun to give a tour of the latest. Most of our time is spent with friends at the club and sharing a game of bridge or entertaining each other.

Million Kids is a public benefit 501 (c) non profit organization. We are made of a team of advocates that support our mission and each has their own specialty. Deena Murray (RCDLEnterprises) is a master at developing marketing strategy and crafting our stories and research so the public can understand the reality of human trafficking and social media Exploitation. Kris Klise (Klise Media) provides our social media outreach with the strategic use of a wide range of marketing tools to educate the public. Nancy Aguirre often makes presentations to parents and teens to educate the public about how predators operate. Lynda Bergh Herring is a Private Investigator and in addition to making presentations to parents and teens, she provides investigative services and cell phone analysis. Tonya Holt is a Pastor and Spiritual Leader that educates about Fentanyl and the impact of pornography on sexual exploitation.

Most important to our success is our many individuals and corporations that support our work through prayer and financial support. Many of our donors make monthly contributions and have done so for many years. Often these individuals send in letters of encouragement and share how our work has impacted their lives. In a dark world where we often operate, their support is the most critical element in our success.
