We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Carmody and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, what do you want your legacy to be?
I want people to remember me as someone who’s not afraid to create different aspects of art. Whether it’s painting/drawing abstract, modern, pop art, realism, along with making jewelry, graphic illustration’s on t-shirts and tote bags. My motto for my brand is “I can make it happen!” Which is true. Whatever a client wants, I always make sure they are beyond satisfied with the finished product.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I came a long way to where I am at now. Yet I feel there is more I need to succeed in the creative, entertainment industry. Dealing with many negative obstacles in my life has brought me to where I am now. I relied on art in my youth to take the pain away from being bullied everyday by peers. Ever since then, I continued to create art and am still creating art. I like to keep my work diverse as possible. It’s like having my own trademark. Where everyone knows it’s Nicole Carmody’s work. If that makes any sense. Life is all about you being in control of your own life and what you want out of it. I want more success along the way creating more diverse projects, and more until I die. As my motto says “I can make it happen!”

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Overall I am a beach goer, and easy going kind of tour guide. If my best friend were visiting the South Bay/Los Angeles area, I would take them to all of the beaches. Including Torrance, Redondo, Hermosa, Manhattan, El Porto, and Long Beach. We would eat tacos and burritos at LBJs aka El Burrito Jr., take it to go and eat at one of the beaches listed above I recommend visiting. Also, Santa Monica Pier is a fun place to visit. Honestly, the diverse population in the South Bay/Los Angeles area is what makes my city great. We’re all different. Everyone has a story to share, along with ideas about music and art.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shout out to all of my friends, family, along with members of the Instagram art community for appreciating and believing in me. Thank you all! I won’t give up! There will be more work coming along the way.
