We had the good fortune of connecting with Micah Ninteman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Micah, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I would say the two most important factors behind the success of our business is this. First, put all our trust in God and he will take care of the rest. The second most important factor would be to create an environment where any one person who walks into our facility can feel welcome, safe, and protected.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
People always ask me why we opened in a gym during a pandemic and why were you so confident, One was the faith that God told me it was time and that the path has been laid.
Second, is do you know when the best time to plant a tree is???? 1o years ago……Do you know when the second best time is? Right now!
Drop Zone classes are time-interval-based circuit classes. With every class being time-based for every workout, all levels of fitness are welcome to join at their own pace. These classes will challenge you through all aspects of functional training and will get you ready to take on life. Classes change weekly so you will always be on your toes waiting for the next class!
Training needs function and training also need to be able to encompass all types of fitness and this is what we do so well here at our gym, whether you’re a beast athlete or this is the first workout we welcome and want you in our gym. We pride ourselves on programming that we write in our gym and work really hard delivering different programming weeks in and out.
Our mission statement for our gym is To offer a safe and accepting place where all people, from all walks of life, can come as they are and better themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually while leaving their burdens and stresses at the door.
In the gym, we are all on team fitness and every individual is on your team, not against you.
Lastly what separates us apart to is we don’t focus on the external image of our body but the internal. We want every one of our members to feel strong, fit, and confident! This will look different on each individual.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First, we would start our morning off with a hike at Iron Mountain, one of my favorite hikes in San Diego. Then we would make our way to brunch at Hooley’s. An amazing fun day would not be complete without a round of Disc Golf at Morely Field.
A few other of our favorite gems we would take somebody to if they were a Dog lover like us would be Fiesta Island and spend the day there with our Dog and Paddleboarding, followed by Dinner at the best BBQ and Burgers spot in San Diego which is STP bar and Grill.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I think where I gained most of my experience in working with all populations of people and got my instructor career going has to be from the almost 6 years I spent at the YMCA. My boss there, Karen Williams, really helped grow me into the intelligent and confident coach that I am today. Also there is NO WAY I would be anywhere close to where I am now with our business if it wasn’t for our Co-Owner and more Importantly my Wife Nicki, She has never once doubted that I could make this business happen and was willing to support any crazy decision I made.
