We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Seibel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Megan, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
5 years ago, I was a tired, unemployed stay at home mom. We were living on one paycheck and barely making ends meet. The financial stress and debt was building up every month and I knew that if I could only find a way to make money working from home, I could really help my husband and create more financial stability for my family. I had a background in acting, teaching and held a bachelors in fine arts and masters degree in education. I knew that there had to be someway to use my skills and work ethic and do something from home. One night when I was awake with anxiety, I read a post on social media from a friend who was building a business online. It was the first time I heard a whisper in my heart to build a business online as a health and fitness coach. I had always been passionate about health and fitness and loved sharing tips and supporting others. I had taught yoga and fitness classes before and I loved teaching so I thought coaching would be a perfect fit for me! “This could be it!” I thought excitedly. But I was scared. I was nervous because I had never “owned a business” before and I was not sure if I had what it took, especially as a busy mom. But I missed working and I wanted to make some money! The next day I contacted my friend and started building my coaching business from home. I figured if I could put in at least an hour of work every day that I could make it work!! I got certified as a holistic nutritionist, worked with business mentors, created an online bootcamp and learned how to grow my business on social media!! Over the years I have learned that my experience as an actress, school teacher, yoga teacher and mom prepared me so well for a career as an online health and fitness coach! Coaching other women and helping them achieve not only healthy happy bodies but build businesses has become my passion and my purpose. I have a team of coaches who I mentor and lead called Team Sol Sisters and it has grown to be a top team in our industry and it all started with me, a tired mom with a dream and a whisper in her heart to do more. I didn’t have a background in business. I didn’t have a large following on social media. I wasn’t in great shape. I didn’t know a ton of people. I was scared and I was insecure but I was a great student! I knew that if I worked hard enough, I would become successful. Hard work pays off and if you believe in yourself, anything is possible!

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is all about helping women create lifestyle habits that support overall wellness!! I help my clients burn more fat, eat more plants and create more freedom in their life! I have a virtual wellness bootcamp called NutriFit Fusion where I coach my clients daily, provide weekly meal plans and support the community daily with mindset, nutrition and fitness tips! We use a virtual wellness app that has over a thousand different workouts, two video-based lifestyle nutrition programs, guided mediations, yoga classes, and hundreds of healthy recipes! I truly LOVE to work with people and help them get the best results. I go above and beyond when it comes to customer service and them feeling like the community is a safe space to share their struggles, progress photos and create new friendship! I teach them how to meal prep, how to fit in workouts as busy women, how to start eating healthy and how to eat more plant-based which helps with inflammation, metabolism and fat burning! It was not easy to build a community online or a business online from nothing. But I did have a very supportive tribe of women who supported me and cheered me on even when I wanted to give up. I truly believe that it is important to have a tribe and a coach to help you get the best results in both business and fitness! In addition to helping women with their wellness, I also help women create their own online wellness coaching businesses. I help them get started, mentor them and offer continued need support and training on their business journey. I find that with the right tools and encouragement, anyone can build a successful business! The challenged that I have faced as a stay at home mom who is also a full time business owner is really time management and balancing work and family. I think that you need to be structured and organized to be most effective in both your role as a mother and as a business owner. I user a planner and schedule everything including work hours and fun time with my family! I lost myself when I became a mom. I stopped doing things that were fun, I stopped working, I stopped dreaming. That had a huge impact on my joy and self esteem and with my business and in my own fitness journey, I was able to find myself again and discover my purpose outside of just being a mom. I love that I can earn a full time income working from home and raising my boys. I believe that we were all put on this earth to do amazing things and that it is our job to find our passion and create purpose with it by serving others and helping make the world a better place. I try to show up everyday with a willingness to work hard, a mind to learn and a heart to help!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love the beach! I would take them to La Jolla for a morning kayaking trip around the Cove and then grab breakfast at Beaming Superfoods Cafe. Then we’d hike along the bluffs and go bird watching! I would take them shopping in La Jolla and then take a rooftop yoga class and have dinner at Trilogy. The next day we would spend time walking on the beach in Del Mar and eat lunch at Jakes on the beach. I would take them to Cedros Ave in Solana Beach for more shopping and to look at art and antiques. Then I would take them for a hike at Torrey Pines to watch the sunset and then dinner at Cafe Gratitude in Little Italy. I would make sure that we did a day in Coronado and hangout at Hotel Del and the beach and took a bike ride around the island. I would also make sure to take them to Ocean Beach to shop and grab a bite at Peace Pies for the best raw vegan dessert. Id also take them to hike Potato Chip Rock and then spend the day at the spa at the Rancho Bernardo Inn! We’d also go shopping at the Carlsbad Outlets and then hangout at the beach and relax.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Brendan Burchard’s book High Performing Habits really helped me develop the skills that I needed in order to build a successful business!
