We had the good fortune of connecting with Marni Battista and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marni, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more? What sets you apart from others?
The institute for Living Courageously takes professional, successful women through a duplicatable, repeatable process that reveals the root cause of what is keeping them single and stuck, heal it using a research based, proprietary and holistic system that’s cognitive, emotional, spiritual, and somatic, and help to them attract a quality man for a fulfilling relationship and a meaningful life that’s in alignment with the authentic self.
What sets us apart from other personal development organizations is that we are research based in that the processes we use to create change for our clients is based on the latest research in neurobiology and cognitive psychology. In addition, we have a very in-depth approach to ensuring our client success so that on a regular basis we are tracking to make sure they hit the milestones that they need to achieve so that they can have the results and outcomes they desire. We are very proud of our results.
After 10 weeks of working with us:
100% of our clients said their self-worth as a potential love partner increased.
95% reported having compassion for themselves (vs. 51% before the program).
95% felt equipped to deal with rejection (Vs. 35% before the program).
91% released feelings of embarrassment or shame over past relationship failures.
95% reported having clarity on who is and who isn’t their right partner, based on their
After a year of working with us 4 out of 5 women attracted a satisfying relationship with a man that fits their unique criteria for quality, longevity, and commitment.
How did you get where you are today, business wise?
I started the business in 2009 and really it came from a passion to want to help women, so that they wouldn’t have to go through the same struggle that I did. To not only fall in love with themselves and have self worth, but also to do it in a way in which they felt whole and complete and from that place learn how to date with dignity, to really attract the person that is their right partner..
We have been building the business step by step, with a focus on not merely making more money or being more profitable but really keeping our eye as an organization on how we can help more people and create more impact in the world.
Was it easy?
It has been fulfilling and it has been an expression of really who I am at the core. So while it has been challenging and there have been many ups and downs over the last 12 plus years, I have felt very clear that everything I do is a direct expression of who I am as a person, so in that way it feels natural and organic to be doing the work I do because it is so authentic to who I am.
There were many challenges along the way and at every single step it was about asking for the right help at the right time and implementing and taking action, not just merely following directions from a ‘guru’ or consultant, but using intuition and insight and our expertise at what we do to adjust and assess consistently so that we could continue to grow while we stay true to what it is that we do.
What lessons have you learned along the way?
Rather than thinking about how can I uplevel to the next level as a leader, what I really focus on is how I can continue to go more deeply into myself and allow the business to be a reflection of the greatest emergence of my soul, of who I am, and of my purpose here. So, I try to lead from this place, asking really powerful questions, using intuition, and hiring the right people who also want to work in this way.
I have also learned to be really patient, listen deeply, take action consistently, and use the mantra of “let the knowing be known,” meaning that my intention everyday is that I can listen to my intuition to make decisions as I lead.
Finally, I’ve really learned to trust the process and that delegating and hiring people who are also in their zone of genius and really doing work that is a fulfillment of their purpose allows it all to come together to really create, not only incredible results, but to really have an incredible, amazing team making huge impact and having fun along the way.
I want the world to know that if you are a person who struggles with low self worth, if you feel lost, if you feel like a fraud, if you feel like you can’t have what it is that you really want, I want you to know that that isn’t true, and that there is a way out and that you have to find and invest in the right mentor, who can help you have a strategy because what is waiting for you outside your limitations is a life beyond your wildest dreams.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would cook for my best friend, invite interesting people to the house to connect, take them to hikes in nature, drive to the Botanical Gardens, take them on one of the Secret Stairs of Los Angeles hikes, find a cool local coffee shop. I would take them to one or two special restaurants, take them to Mother’s Beach to experience a paddle in the Marina, walk along the Venice Canals and explore a drive up the coast!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my SHOUTOUT to my husband, Jeremy Crane. I met him just days before I launched my business and he has been an incredible support over the last twelve years as we have built a legacy of love together.
