Meet Maria Sancic | Photographic and Independent Marketing Specialist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Maria Sancic and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maria, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Goals are so important when it comes to achieving your dream. Your dreams, after all, are a goal – Aren’t they? In 2017 I was working a normal 9-5 as a chiropractic assistant and the Doctor I worked for changed my life. She handed me the book “The Secret” and I dove deep into its teachings. Training your brain to be automatically positive is step one. Step two is creating the habits need in order to do that. Getting serious about goal setting was the move I needed to make. I write yearly, monthly and sometimes daily goals when I need a push of motivation!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As a mother of 2 at the time I found myself in need of an option that allowed me to financially succeed with less time away from my family. As a creative person, photography became the answer. Gypsylady Creative Co. was born and combined my efforts in photography, songwriting and music. I quickly discovered, however, that marketing and business was my favorite part. Setting up processes, websites, content and all thing marketing lit a little spark in me. So, I took all necessary steps to grow. Growth can be our own enemy though and after opening a studio downtown I found myself in the first, most challenging situation after an intern I hired taught me a big lesson. Plagiarism on your entire life work can leave you feeling like your identity was stolen and put on the face of another person. A lesson so deep that I faced a year of complete depression and self doubt.

Never do business with friends. Never be afraid to set official, legally backed up boundaries. Never reach burn out.

I worked hard on myself for the year of 2021. I trusted my path and healed. The results was narrowing in on the types of photography I wanted to focus on and opening up a part of my business that focused on helping other businesses grow.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So many people have nothing to say about Ohio but that’s because they have not been to Magnolia! My sweet little community is the same as when I grew up. There is nothing like summertime on the family farm. The rolling hills will steal your heart. For a night out, we enjoy stopping at Creekside Cottage Winery down the road. I sing here occasionally for fun! Next stop would be one of the many local dive bars that inspire so many of the songs I write.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have so many people to credit for the connection to success I believe I have achieved. But when I break that down I have to ask the question “Where did these people come from?” What did I do to attract such amazing, influential people into my life? And for that I credit the time I gave myself to learn how to train my thoughts and actions to default to positivity. Who you attract is who you are. After reading the book “The Secret” by Ronda Byrne I found myself completely confident with facing an extremely negative world with the utmost positive outlook. I watched my life transform!

As the years continued I found myself managing my own, very success photography business. My financial life took a great turn and all of my goals had a clear path of success before them.
