We had the good fortune of connecting with Lorena Angenault and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lorena, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The journey into starting Villa Capri felt organic rather than intentional. Initially, I didn’t view it as a business at all—it began as a heartfelt hobby, a way to support my artist friends by giving them greater visibility. I launched an online art gallery to showcase and sell their unique pieces, driven by a genuine passion for celebrating their creativity.

Later, life brought me to the beautiful island of Mallorca. Immersed in its stunning natural surroundings, I felt a deep desire to share the transformative power of connecting with nature. This led me to create creative retreats set in nature, where participants could fully immerse themselves in their senses, drawing inspiration from both their inner and outer landscapes. My intention has always been to create spaces for reflection, creativity, and connection.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
It’s hard to define myself… I’m a creative director and multidisciplinary artist, and my work spans art, design, and gastronomy. I’m deeply interested in exploring form, material, texture, and color. Through my creations, I aim to challenge how we perceive everyday materials and invite reflection on how we interact with objects and spaces.
In 2016, I founded Villa Capri, a creative laboratory and platform for Art & Interior Curation. Villa Capri is both an art gallery, featuring curated, unique pieces by talented artists, and a space for hosting art residencies in the rural landscape. These residencies have been a profound source of inspiration for me, offering endless opportunities to explore how art can be meaningfully integrated into our everyday lives. By fostering collaboration and interdisciplinary exchange, Villa Capri encourages a shift from individual perspectives to collective ones, creating a sense of belonging and community while bringing creativity into the rhythms of daily living.
With a background in visual arts, my practice is rooted in material experimentation and a boundary-blurring approach that integrates multiple disciplines. Recently, my work has focused on directing performances and creating gastronomic installations, further expanding my exploration of immersive, multi-sensory experiences. These projects reflect my passion for transforming spaces and crafting meaningful, connected experiences for audiences.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to dedicate my shoutout to Alba Giné. We met during our art school days in Barcelona, and from the very beginning, she has been a constant source of inspiration, not only through her incredible work but also through her values and authenticity as a person.

Years later, we both found ourselves living in Mallorca, where our shared passion and vision led us to co-found Voilà Voilà, an agency specializing in creative direction and pop-up events. events. Alba’s eye for beauty and enthusiasm have been instrumental in shaping my journey.

We’re currently looking to take on new projects with Voilà Voilà, and we’re excited to keep creating. We are now collaborating with the local chef Diego Silva, creating gastronomic pop-up experiences, exploring raw flavors, local produce, and honest cooking. If you’re looking for fresh ideas or a unique touch for your events, we’re ready to bring your vision to life!
