We had the good fortune of connecting with Levi Yin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Levi, what’s your definition for success?
When I define success, its meaning transpires the material and superficial. Its context is more profound. Success is achieved by means of joy and fulfillment. Those two things are unique experiences for each individual. Pursuing your purpose is a journey we all make. An adventure that guides us to our tailored ambition.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
There are people out there who have a passion for what I do. Many whom do it brilliantly. I get asked frequently how do I compete. My answer is simple, I don’t. I didn’t get to my current position by competing with the next individual. Why compete when we can create? I made it here because of the support of my community. Through my determination and willingness to learn, I have been blessed with something beyond titles. I get to be me, especially with the support of my community, I have the opportunity to be the best me each day. Life is an uphill battle for all of us. Whether you win or you learn. I want people to understand that being yourself is enough. No matter what you go through, in the end it will count. So be honest and genuine.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The first stop would definitely be to have some pho, regardless of the weather! Tacos aren’t a bad choice either. The bluff by Bixby park is a cool place to hang out and soak up some sun. I like to take photos on my leisurely, so places with views like Signal Hill, Shoreline village, Belmont Shore and downtown Long Beach. I would suggest The Aquarium of The Pacific and/or whale watching. 4th street has a lot of cool shops, restaurants and bars. There are many communities in the city, lots of people to meet and things to do.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe thanks to many beings. People who’ve showed me endless support and gone out of their way to propel me towards my happiness. I specifically want to thank my family (blood and non-blood), They have always put my happiness first. Coming from a traditional working class family it’s a true blessing to have the support from my beloveds. I also want to thank Æ Creative Arts (Abby & Erick). They have helped me become the creative I am today. When I had no experience they gave me a chance to build my portfolio and allowed me to be able to collaborate with them. They have provided me with so many opportunities and they continue to do so till this day! I owe a lot my confidence and progress to them.
