We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelsey Overstreet and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kelsey, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Work-life balance has always been a challenge, but since becoming a mother, I’ve been forced to structure my time in a more planned and organized way. This has helped me maintain better boundaries. Previously, I used to work seven days a week, chase every opportunity, and find myself in a yearly burnout pattern.
Nowadays, I prioritize rest above all else. I’ve learned to say no, go to bed early, and check in with my energy levels before committing to opportunities. It took me 40 years to reach this point, but I’m grateful for the lessons learned and continue to refine the balance.
Maintaining a healthy work-life balance requires conscious effort and discipline, especially when juggling the demands of parenthood. By setting clear priorities, practicing self-care, and knowing when to decline commitments, I’ve been able to avoid the burnout cycles that once plagued me. While it’s an ongoing journey, I’ve come to value rest and rejuvenation as essential components of a fulfilling and sustainable lifestyle.
