We had the good fortune of connecting with Keilani Francisco and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Keilani, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Growing up I seemed to think starting your own business was just what everyone did. I assumed everyone built their own homes to live in and everyone started their own business. What a buzzkill when I learned that was NOT the case. I strongly believe no one is meant to just work their life away, pay bills, and die. With that being said I also believe everyone has a purpose here. A purpose to serve and bring value to the Earth and Humanity. We all bring a uniqueness, something special that no one else can do quite like us – but how does one know what they are meant to do unless they have explored every idea. So that’s what I did. I have always thought outside the box, never been one to conform (even though I tried I always felt a pull towards something more and “different” than the norm). My entire life I knew I wanted to inspire others but I wasn’t sure how I would do that. I explored many creative outlets as forms of making money. I was a preschool teacher, managed a dispensary, served pizza, and took a few internships at rad woman owned businesses that gave me the tools and confidence to explore the idea of starting my own business. Once I saw other inspiring, successful women in business I thought, “if they can do it, so can I” and that statement can ring true for anyone seeking something they feel they cannot do. If it’s being done then there is no reason you cannot do it either. I began to drop the limiting beliefs, dove DEEP into my personal development, taking action towards my dreams, and started hosting transformative events, women circles, and sharing tools I had learned throughout my personal healing journey such as reiki, meditation, breathwork, etc. I continued to explore the idea of what really brought me fulfillment, what could make me money, give me the freedom to live life on my terms, and allow me to be of service to others. Through hosting transformative events and women circles I discovered my passion for speaking and guiding others to tap into their potential. Ultimately what it came down to was knowing what really lit me up and never forgetting that, exploring my passions, seeking expanders that we’re doing what I wanted to do and learning from them, working through the limiting beliefs and fears, stepping into my power, owning my worth, and taking action.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Something that sets me apart is that I did not receive a college degree. As hard as that used to be for me to admit or even say I’m proud of, I know that it is something that may stop people from even trying. Realizing now that it pushed me to work harder, to accept unpaid internships dedicating my time and energy to gain the hands-on experience within a range of industries is what ultimately set me up for success that you just cannot get in a classroom. I have built my business from scratch all out of pure drive and desire to want more for myself and the clients I work with. Being an entrepreneur isn’t just working from coffee shops whenever you want and traveling the world – although that’s a huge perk of being your own boss. Being an entrepreneur has taught me that you will not always be motivated, you have to learn to be disciplined. You have to hold yourself accountable because no one is on your back telling you when to be at work or go on break. Time management, organization, and having a rest-work-play balance are fundamentals for a solid foundation. Which brings me to what else sets me apart is my blend between spirituality and entrepreneurship. I cultivate a balance of the two that have really allowed me to tap into my flow, shift my mindset, show up in my highest potential ready to serve my clients. This alchemy is what inspired me latest coaching program, The Spiritual Entrepreneur, that launches mid to late August of 2020.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As a San Diego native I myself may take San Diego for granted sometimes but as a San Diego native comes much responsibility for ensuring optimal good times one will never forget while visiting! I’d set the bar low by going to visit the seals in La Jolla because every tourist seems to love that for some reason. From there i’d take them to one of the best lookout spots less than 5 minutes away (if you know, you know), followed by In-n-Out (obviously). Pre quarantine, we’d stop by El Prez for a sunset and killer tacos followed by hitting up the “not too douchey, not too divey”, Sidecar, on Morena Blvd. One day we’d find some cliffs to jump off in OB, hit up Kate Sessions Park in PB next door and end the night at Spin nightclub groovin until 4am.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
OOOOO! There are so many amazing humans that I am grateful for that have served as expanders for me throughout my journey. It started when I saw a position for an internship at a locally, women owned business, Little Black Diamond. I remember thinking I had ZERO experience except a marketing class, a small business management class, and the desire and drive. After my time there I took another internship at Eckis Marketing in Downtown San Diego. This is when the real mindset shift happened. I was thrown into something that many people lacking experience might never even consider applying for but I saw it as a huge opportunity to learn from Whitney Eckis (owner) who is a huge inspiration of mine in the business world. Shortly after my time here I discovered Lacy Philips manifestation work and the man, the myth, the legend – Tony Robbins; two extremely successful people in the coaching industry. I invested in Lacy’s To Be Magnetic course which allows you to get to the root cause of limiting beliefs and reprogram your subconscious mind to manifest what you want in life. I invested in an 8 week mindset coaching program with Karissa Kouchis, a personal speaker for Tony Robbins and through her group “Unleash Her Power Within” we focused on shifting our mindset and tapping into our full potential. Bringing me full circle to my WHY, allowing each step throughout my journey to serve as a bridge to the next phase, bringing me back to my why but this time with more experience, confidence, clarity, knowledge, and tools under my belt to take massive action towards my dreams.
