We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaylee Emmons and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kaylee, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“Each and every being has the innate ability to heal as a gift from the gods.” -Mikao Usui

To me, this quote refers to the idea that every person has the ability to heal themselves and others. We all have these gifts and the ability to tap into them & sometimes unknowingly use them everyday! Whether it’s through acts of kindness, music, art, working with others, or energy work! We all have the ability to heal ourselves and others every day!

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I believe I have been on a journey towards spirituality my whole life. I started to struggle with my mental health at the age of 15 and was diagnosed and hospitalized with severe anxiety and depression. My healing journey really began when I started learning and studying Buddhism at a local temple when I was about 17, and has led me on an open-minded path towards healing myself and others. Many years and many lessons later, a reading from a psychic guided me towards Reiki as well as a multitude of other holistic healing methods. Reiki has helped me so much and genuinely transformed my life and I am so happy to share the experience with others. If there is one lesson I’ve learned on this journey, is that when you have good intentions and really put your heart into something, and listen to your gut, the Universe will always be by your side. Becoming the person I am today was most definitely not easy, and there were so many moments where I wanted to give up, so many moments where I did give up! But I got back up and kept going. If there’s one thing someone takes away from this story, I want it to be the inspiration to keep going. Even if you’re not sure where you’re going, even if all seems hopeless, there IS a path for you and you will find it if you just keep your faith. Knowing what it’s like to struggle with mental health, it is my mission to provide a safe and authentic healing space to anyone who needs it and show you that you are not alone in this life, I am right beside you.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mom! She has believed in me and supported me ever since I got my Reiki certification. She keeps me grounded and helps me out with my business in so many ways from getting my website started, signing the papers for my LLC, and helping me at in-person events! She is my rock and I absolutely wouldn’t be here without her. I love you mom! I also want to shout out Jenna Valdez for referring me for this interview and being the most amazing friend, mentor and teaching partner. I love you Jenna!
