We had the good fortune of connecting with Katarina Simic and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katarina, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I had the idea to make light-up apparel that mimicked traditional neon art. When I wore a sample jacket out to an event and witnessed everyone’s positive response, I knew I had to make it into a business.

I was never satisfied working for someone else and following rules. I always wanted to control my time and have more passive income.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
By fusing technology and fashion, The Neon Muse delivers custom light-up apparel for men and women.

We can now light up any logo or design so it is a fun way to promote other brands and creative ideas!

We are currently scaling production and it is difficult because the global supply chain is having major issues. We are powering through and figuring out how to get around shipping delays, material shortages, and international issues. Since we are manufacturing fashion pieces that have light-up technology we have to navigate these strict regulations. I am overcoming these challenges by finding the right partners and learning from my mistakes. My advice is to try and use your mistakes as lessons and not get defeated by them.

I would love the world to know that we make apparel that encourages you to stand out and illuminate individual creative style.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Las Vegas is an iconic tourist destination, so the ideas are endless! When my friends visit, I encourage them to get off the strip and experience a lot of great local areas that Vegas has to offer. The arts district downtown has excellent restaurants, breweries, bars, and the most incredible vintage shops, where you’ll be sure to find some gems.

Area 15 just opened and has a lot of immersive art experiences and an amazing boutique called Wild Muse (where you can pick up some of our neon designs).
Red Rock national park is just minutes out of the city and has beautiful hikes and a scenic loop that is a must to feel like you’ve landed on Mars.
GreenGale Farms is the other business my husband and I are starting up that will be open for private events soon. We have over 150 rescue animals and several unique natural environments, including a palm tree forest, olive grove, and fruit orchard.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A big shoutout to my friends and family who are constantly providing support!
