Meet Kammee Gonzalez | Early Intervention Teacher

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kammee Gonzalez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kammee, how does your business help the community?
Inclusive Kids is a business that aims to better the lives of children, aged 0-3, who are experiencing delays in common areas, including, but not limited to: speech & language, motor skills, self-help, or social-emotional developments. We offer a play-based therapy that engages with the child in a way that they understand most, which is fun! Our key ingredient is connection. When a child feels connected and supported, their brains absorb information quicker. When offering this form of therapy, we allow children to explore their environments and discover things on their own. On top of building relationships with the kids we work with, we are also able to offer support to the families as well. Sometimes raising children can be hard, it truly takes a village. By offering support, resources, and techniques, we help parents and caregivers even when therapy is not in session; such as feeding advice, sleeping advice, and even sensory advice. Sensory integration can be often looked over, but by learning the child and their needs, we can breakdown what they are searching for and offer it during play time, as well as help caregivers understand this in order to help their child reach a regulation state when introducing new routines or exploring new or stressful environments. Our core values include: Diversity & Inclusion, Humility, Trust & Respect, and Impact. We truly believe that with all of these combined, even the smallest moments of connection can change the world. We build relationships rooted in kindness, honesty, and trust, lead with curiosity and know that each individual has something to teach us, and we ALWAYS celebrate differences and create a space where everyone belongs.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Coming from a life-long love of working with children, I knew I wanted to be somewhere in the field. When I applied for the position back in 2024, I was not sure if I would be able to fulfill the role, but with the guidance from other coworkers and my wonderful boss, I was quickly able to understand the importance and honor of what we get to do. I fell in love with the role of being an early intervention teacher. As someone who was not always accepted or sometimes felt out of place, being able to give back to children and be there for them and love them for exactly who they were was something that drove my passion through the roof. The road to finding a career was definitely not easy, after graduating college, I still had no idea what the next step was. After a few short months with Inclusive Kids, it was clear that this is where I belonged. Finding confidence in myself and understanding that mistakes and set-backs are all apart of the journey was the most important part for me. That without those lessons and struggles, I would not be in the position I am in now. I have also learned to stand up for what you believe in, and to use your voice, the worst they can say is no. I am proud of myself for never giving up on me and the life I wanted, and more excited to see how far Inclusive Kids will go. We are different because we hire for passion. Technique and skill can be taught, but the love and passion for your job and to make a difference cannot be. Also understanding that filling your own cup is so important as well. Without taking care of yourself, you cannot take care of others. Inclusive Kids is a company that allows you to do the things you love, in order to continue making a difference for others. Balance and a healthy mind should be important in any career, and here we support just that.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Although Im still new to the area, Ive definitely found some of my new favorite spots!!
Ocean Beach, specifically Luigis Pizza and people watching on the beach! The vibes, to me, give local, chill, and relaxing. Next up, sunset at sunset cliffs, duh! The views are so amazing, and I’ve never felt more at peace.
Next day, we are waking up for some hot yoga at yoga box! Yoga sculpt for intensity or Vinyasa Flow for some flexibility and relaxation.
At some point we have to hit Coronado Island dog beach and get a sandwich from the corner liquor store on Orange. Best sandwiches at a good price. And if we are feeling fun, a drink at Mc P’s Irish Pub. Usually they have live music! (and Go Navy!)
Typically when my friends visit we’ll go out for dancing and fun in Gaslamp or Pacific Beach, I personally do not think you can go wrong with either. Moonshine Flats and The Local always have good dancing music.
A baseball game would definitely be on this itinerary as well, because who doesn’t love a good hot dog with a view.
Dinner at Seneca in Downtown would also be on the schedule, along with the little Italy farmers market!
San Diego has so much to offer, and I haven’t even discovered half of it!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Monica Peterson, Founder and CEO of Inclusive Kids. Her business was born in the Central Valley of California. (Fresno, CA). Back in 2024 I was hired on as an Early Interventionist, and in 2025 we explored the dream of expanding outside our small town. In August of 2025, Inclusive Kids-San Diego took off. She has been a mentor and boss that only one could dream about. With answers to every question, and guidance in any struggle, I would not be here in San Diego leading Inclusive Kids and spreading our wonderful and inspiring impact if it was not for her trust and confidence in me. She fulfills every value that we have as a company, and has a vision to make the world a better place, not matter where at.
