Meet Kai KJ” Stäheli | Brand Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kai “KJ” Stäheli and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi KJ, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The community. LA VIBES stands for the community. The goal is that when you think of LA VIBES, you automatically connect it with the whole creative community around it. And I think that’s what makes this brand so special and successful in the end. Originally it was just a regular Instagram account that supported and featured photos from amazing photographers in SoCal. And then as that got bigger and bigger, it started to become a brand. However, I still try to keep this brand very personal and close to people and continue to support artists with this brand.

My goal is to establish a strong brand that represents a community and supports a wide variety of people from the area of Los Angeles. With the help of our Instagram account @LosAngeles_Vibes we are able to provide a platform for artists, photographers, videographers and businesses of all kinds. Over the years, a large and especially helpful community has formed which reflects the diversity that can be found in Los Angeles itself.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Filmmaking is a great passion of mine. So far, I’ve mainly done smaller projects under my artist name “KJ” but I hope that I can pursue this passion even more in the future after my studies. I prefer to make travel videos or short films with some awesome special effects.

Matching my passion for filmmaking, I also have a passion for the entertainment capital of the world; Los Angeles. Such an exciting and interesting city with different facets and possibilities.

So just like that the idea of creating a brand for artists of all kind related to Los Angeles was born out of my two passions. Being an artist myself, I can understand that it can be difficult to share your work with the world. That’s why I try to share as many artists’ work with LA VIBES as possible.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, Los Angeles has so many amazing places. But I would definitely go to Griffith Observatory and enjoy the breathtaking view on the city! After that we hike in the direction of the Hollywood sign and then head to the closest In-N-Out. Of course there are so many good places to eat in LA but the animal style french fries are a must try. Obviously, while in LA, you have to have been to Disneyland or Universal Studios at some point. We would spend the evenings at the several beaches and on the Santa Monica Pier enjoying the sunsets. Add a Lakers, Dodgers or Rams game to that and the stay is going to be perfect.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Credit clearly goes to all the great photographers and videographers throughout the SoCal region and especially those from Los Angeles. Without them, LA VIBES would not exist today. It was only through their great photos and videos that I could always share with the community on Instagram that this brand started to grow. That’s why I will continue to do my best and try to give back as much as possible to these people and always support their work. So thank you to all the creative minds who provide such great content for my brand!
