We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonald Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jonald, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Creativity has always been a huge part of my life. Its been a lot of figuring out how to integrate all my creative endeavors into my work in a professional sense. Either in ways that pay the bills, or feed that need all artists have to create things that move us.
Career or no career the ability to create art will always be one way out of the dark for me.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I make hiphop music! I also do a little voice acting and most recently have found garden design to be a positive endeavor in my life.
That said I have also been a photographer since I was 6, gifted a 35mm minolta from my father. Thats where I spent a lot of my energy. Observing, documenting.
Its been a long road trying to find my voice, or style in my music, I truly believe what I’ve been making this last year is unique and specific to myself and what I and my collaborators find interesting.
I believe in making art that youre happy with, and unhappy with, and anything in between, lately Ive been exploring different places to take my music.
As much of this journey as Ive had to navigate alone, Ive had amazing friends that have been integral to my survival along the way.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’re hitting Kin Len for lunch time. Little cup or cone after at Stella Jean’s. Pull up to Kate Sessions or Presidio Park with a picnic blanket, carne asada fries, and a speaker. Tell the friends to bring the vibes with em. Watch the sunset.
End the night with a bonfire & bbq situation at the crib.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shout out my love, Becah
Shout out Esta, Carinoe, 2nai, anyone thats spread positivity my way.
