Meet Jenny Sellers | Reiki Master and Spiritual Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenny Sellers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenny, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The Groves of Zen is an energy-based business focused on bringing balance to the energy body which, in turn, helps support the physical body. As the brand was being built, I recognized that it quickly had an energy all of its own. Tuning into the energy of the business entity was absolutely the most important factor behind the success of the brand – Everything from logo and website creation, pricing, offerings, social media posts…it all came about by getting to know the essence of the brand that wanted to be brought out of my thinking mind and into the physical world.

By checking in with the energy behind the Groves at every point throughout the creation process, the true essence of the brand has guided me. It’s easy to get lost in the thinking mind when starting a business, and I truly believe that this practice of getting to know the entity behind the brand is key to the success of any business – be it an energy-based business, corporate business, nonprofit organization, etc. Remaining authentic and vulnerable to the energetic signature behind the brand is the responsibility that we take on when bringing an offering into the world, and it’s my sincere pleasure and honor to share the energy of the Groves with the world.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Groves of Zen is an energy-based business that provides distance and in person Reiki sessions, Angel Card and Tarot Card Readings, DNA Activation sessions, and Spiritual Coaching sessions for both individuals and businesses. Through all of these offerings, I aim to provide insight and understanding into the fact that we never truly walk this world alone – we are always surrounded by a team of energetic support in the form of Angels, energy guides, and loved ones who have passed. We’re also uniquely supported by the Universe and the planetary alignments that influence our day to day lives. The work of the Groves provides unique insight into all that’s happening around you by utilizing the different practices of energy work (Reiki), cards, and coaching to integrate balance into your life in ways that are supportive to you here in the physical.

Creating the Groves was definitely not easy – I come from a science-based background, so tapping into the energy side of life felt foreign in the beginning. It was terrifying sharing my studies, my journey, and my beliefs so openly with the world, but doing so authentically and vulnerably has provided the most beautiful backdrop upon which I get to help others feel into their own truths. I am so proud of this work, and I’m grateful that I took the risk to share my heart with the world in this way!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
San Diego is near and dear to my heart, and I’m grateful that I got to call this city home for 16 years (I’ve recently moved on to the Pacific Northwest, but I still have clients in San Diego that I meet with virtually over Zoom!). For anyone new to the city, the perfect day consists of brunch at Jake’s in Del Mar right on the beach followed by a beach walk, lunch in Old Town where they have the most insanely authentic Mexican food and margaritas, and sunset at either Sunset Cliffs or at the patio of the Hotel Del on Coronado.

If you have time for dinner in the Gaslamp, that’s always a plus, and having lived in Carlsbad for 5 years, I’m a big fan of North County sunsets as well. The downtown Village in Carlsbad is not to be missed in the evenings, and a stop at the Omni Spa and Resort in La Costa is another favorite. Pepper in a Padres game, a stop in Temecula to enjoy the wineries, and a visit to C-Level or Tom Ham’s Lighthouse (restaurants right on San Diego Bay), and you’ve got a pretty good trip ahead of you!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The Groves would absolutely not exist without the support of my dear friend and original Co-Creator, Mary Moore Hughes. In the midst of the devastating pandemic, we wanted to put something good out into the world. Together, we created the beauty behind the Groves and I will forever be grateful that she had the courage to take this risk with me.

I also would not have had the courage to offer services that fall so far outside of what I initially felt comfortable sharing without the teachings of two of my mentors – Psychic Medium Bill Philipps and Angel Mentor Kyle Gray. I hold the teachings of these two beautiful souls so close to my heart, and their teachings formed the foundation upon which the Groves was built.

A final huge shout out to my friends and family who have believed in me and encouraged me throughout the creation of the Groves – without your unending support and encouragement, I would not have had the courage to share my journey so openly with the world.
