We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Williams Koutouan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jasmine, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
Giving up is NEVER an option. I learned this at a early age. Some of my biggest lessons occurred when I was 15 years old and I was apart of a All Women’s Wrestling Team. As you may know wrestling is one of the oldest and toughest sports to mankind. It not only requires strong physical abilities but more importantly mental skills. I had to be very strategtic and continously outsmarting my opponents. Now as a professional realtor I constantly have to keep going not only for me, but for my clients.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My career has given me freedom that I have been waiting for! I started out working retail at 18 years old.I worked two jobs consistently for 10 years. Even though I was always working two jobs I still wasnt financially free and I was tired! Now I’m a full time realtor for Accropolis Enterprise in beautiful San Diego. It’s not easy getting into real estate but some of the best things in life aren’t easy. They’re so many questions you have when you are a new real estate agent. When I first started I learned that asking questions was necessary and being fully dedicated to your clients is key.
They’re thousands of realtors in San Diego County. I know I’m not the normal realtor, which actually makes me happy.
Here’s why, I have extensive background in finance. I worked for a credit union for almost 8 years. So I can review credit reports with my clients, I can review your bank/credit card statements and identify why you are possibly stuck in a debt snowball. I also used to work for a Luxury Design Build contractor. So I can literally look your home up and down tell you exactly what you need to update. I have always had a eye for things, so after working in construction I really sharpened my senses and leveled up in so many ways.
I am the perfect well rounded realtor you would want on your side. I am confident in my ability to deliver a quality and luxury experience. I pride myself on my honesty and only wanting nothing but the best for my clients.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Little Italy has it all! My office is located there, so I’m just minutes from all the gems. I would start off by taking my bestie to get a 16oz Cold Iced Chai Latte from James Coffee Co. We would then walk some shops and then get hungry. I would take her to one of the hottest spots in all of San Diego which is Morning Glory. Since I’m a pasta lover, I always order a bowl Carbona pasta and a order of their Soufflé pancakes( kind of a crazy comb but its fire) Next I would take her to Seaport Village to walk off the pasta & pancakes. After, I would take us to Coronado Island so we could walk Orange Ave and grab a drink at The Henry. It would be a epic trip and full of laughter and great food + drinks!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes! My mother, husband, and of course GOD. I like to think good things come in three’s. God designed me to be loving and forgiving like him. My mother raised me to be honest and hardworking. My husband prays and encourages me every single day. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it were for them supporting me. I am so blessed!
