We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacqueline Alvarez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jacqueline, how does your business help the community?
My podcast, Cafecito Vibes, is a very new podcast. I launched it in October of 2021, and though it is very new, I’ve received overwhelming feedback about people being able to connect and relate. As we move forward, I want to keep providing a space where people of different backgrounds can come and share their story to our listeners in hopes that it’ll bring connections, inspiration, motivation, and a sense of belonging. Cafecito Vibes is just a seed, and I can’t wait for the world to see what it will grow into.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I consider myself a creative individual. I love to think about new ways to live out my purpose in this life. Finding out my purpose was not an easy journey. Imposter syndrome can really hit anyone, and I think as creatives and artists we can be our harshest critics. It took me 4 years to launch a podcast I had thought about because of self doubt. Along the way I’ve learned that like Nike says “Just DO IT!” I want the world to know that my brand is all about being able to share joy and life stories to others, so that others can feel joy and a sense of belonging and then maybe they will also have the courage to share their stories and joy with others.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my friend was visiting for a week long trip we’d start the day with a beautiful sunrise hike at cowless Mountain, Torrey pines, or Iron Mountain. We would hit up as many local coffee shops during the week, Por Vida, Grind House in Chula Vista, The Hamlet Coffee Shop, Cafe Moto, Communal Coffee, Cafeina Cafe, Chikita Cafe, and honestly the list continues. Then we would eat at El Vaquero taco truck in Chula Vista! Bomb Tacos! Pizza from Pizzeria Luigi, Chilaquiles from Cocina 35. We would also hit up a few beaches, more hikes, maybe even head up to Julian and have some delicious apple pie!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to shoutout David Goggins, I read his book “Can’t Hurt Me” and it inspired me to make so many changes in my life. After years of self doubt, I finally realized it’s me Vs. me. I needed to just throw myself out into the world and say and share what I have to because It is what brings me joy. Believing in me and working on being the best version of myself has been a very rewarding journey!
