We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacob Suarez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jacob, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
The way in which we deal with trauma dramatically affects the quality of our life and who we become as people. My business stands at the forefront of early trauma intervention by providing trauma victims emotional first aid, Biohazard clean up, and therapy.

No one should have to manage their trauma alone or clean up the remains of their loved one.

We bring healing into peoples lives at their most vulnerable moments.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Most of my career thus far has been in the Trauma Scene/Hoarding clean up industry. What sets me apart is my ruthless commitment to excellence on the scene. Good enough is simply unacceptable for me.

When I am given the opportunity to help someone on the worst day of their life I treat it as an honor. I do everything in my power to make sure that their home no longer bears the image of the trauma they experienced.

As some who has witnessed my own fair share of trauma I know just how important compassion and understanding is on these types of jobs.

What I am most excited about is the ability to share my experience with my audience of 7 million followers on social media. Together we have been able to break the stigma and shame behind mental health and encourage millions of people to begin their healing journey.

I got to where I am by working at my family’s trauma clean up company in Portland Oregon. I witnessed compassion in action and what it means to be excellent in this field. I learned how to make social media content by observing my favorite YouTube Creators and subsequently starting my own. I’ve been sharing my story ever since.

It was easy at first. I posted 3 videos April 25th, 2021 and woke up to 40k followers the next day. By the end of that year I had 4 million followers.

Challenges eventually arose and I was put into a position where I had to delete every single one of my videos or risk having my family’s company taken away.

I chose to delete everything and start over. It was hard. Due to forces out of our control I was not allowed to film content on job sites with my family anymore.

I had to find something new to film. So I did.

I made videos cleaning up my own home, shared stories of job sites, and traveled around the nation cleaning peoples homes for free.

I kept my head on a swivel and when one door closed I started knocking on the other doors.

I learned that things don’t always go according to plan and there are things outside of your control. Sometimes you might drop the ball and face rejection. Pick up where you left off and fight for something that is worth the pain you will go through.

I’m fighting for a world in which every person has the tools and resources for managing their trauma.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well the first stop is definitely Solana beach. After a whole day of sun bathing and surfing we head on over to Encinitas for the world’s best tacos as The Taco Stand. Then we go for a cup of coffee at Phillz. A quick little caffeine injection should prepare us for the fantastic night life at the many bars over there in downtown Encinitas.

We would frequent The Goods every morning for seriously the best yeast risen doughnuts I have ever had. Truly amazing pieces of fried dough. And then we would hang out at Mesa Rim for indoor rock climbing shenanigans.

A couple more relaxing evening walks on the beach in Carlsbad along side some volleyball and I would say its a successful week.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The compassionate and inspiring leadership at Bio-One PDX for teaching me what it means to be excellent in everything I do.
