We had the good fortune of connecting with Jackson Herrera and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jackson, what is the most important factor behind your success?
My brand, Ventra Guitar Company, is very young; so far, I think part of the appeal and success relies on creativity and the ability to present a new take with a classic design.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Every instrument is treated with individuality, almost every guitar brand out there relies on their productivity based on a production line and large batches, I get it, it’s efficient and it’s profitable. Here at VGC I build one guitar at the time, every single instrument is “a one of a kind”, with its own personality, feel, vibe and mojo and I’m very proud of that.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in Ventura, CA. which to me is a hidden gem only one hour away from LA. I will take them to a little trip to the Channel Island national parks, the Anacapa Island is my favorite one. As for eating something or locking around, Downtown Ventura is full of great live music, bars, restaurants and finally, they can definitely spend some time in my shop, there, they would find a great vintage Vox amp and some amazing guitars to play all day!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family (my wife, my son and my mom and sister specially), Enrique Paris, all my coworkers through the years, since I learned so much from them, Juan Castaneda and all my vendors and suppliers that work with me at VGC.
