We had the good fortune of connecting with Jackie Bright and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jackie, what do you attribute your success to?
I truly believe that to be successful in anything, you must do things with purpose. You shouldn’t chase money, rather how you can make an impact in others lives. My true passion is to make women feel confident and give them back what they had lost in their younger years. I owe all my success to this.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own an Esthetics studio in Redlands,Ca. We specialize in permanent brows, skin care treatments, and lash extensions. I think what sets us apart from others is the connections and friendships we have built with our clients and also being really good at what we do because we take pride in our crafts.

What I am the most proud of is that I built this business from the ground up with just an idea and a love for creating beautiful brows. It wasn’t always easy. In the beginning I had no clue what I was doing.. I didn’t even think of the business side of things, I just loved my art and creating. I had a few rude awakenings as a result. I’ve felt defeated and also have celebrated wins all in one week.

With time, I found I needed more direction and someone who knew how to run a business. I joined a program called Pretty Rich Bosses and I got myself a business coach.. I figured if I didn’t know this side to the business, I would hire someone who did. This really helped me grow and even helped me start my Microblading training course for beginners.

The most valuable lesson I learned from opening my business is that we don’t always know everything there is to know and it is ok to ask for help. It’s ok not to know everything, as long as you show up every single day.

I am a single mom of 2 kids and came from a family that all had to make their own way in life. I didn’t get handed a silver spoon so I knew that it was up to me to create a legacy for my kids to be proud of. If I can give any piece of advice to women wanting to start a business, just do it! Don’t believe you’re negative self talk, don’t wait for the approval of others, and certainly do not ever think it’s possible. Believe in yourself and be proud of the small things you accomplish everyday.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For a good time, I’d say let’s go to Palm Springs and stay at one of their resorts poolside. We could go wine tasting in Temecula and eat dinner at some of the best wineries. If we wanted to stay in town, there’s no way I’d pass up Caprise restaurant in downtown Redlands. We could also go see some live comedy or watch some live bands.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would have to give a shout out to a good friend of mine who believed in me more than I believed in myself at the time. They pushed me to open up my business. Step outside my comfort zone, and supported me along my journey.. my other would be my 2 children. They are the reason I keep going and Never give up on my dreams. I want them to see that if you work hard and follow your vision that anything is possible.
