Meet Isidro Morales Jr

We had the good fortune of connecting with Isidro Morales Jr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Isidro, why did you pursue a creative career?
Since I was a little kid I was always drawn to colors, fashion, and I possessed a creative mind. I enjoyed watching my mom putting on make up and getting dolled up. I was impressed by the final looks. I went to the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts. My artistic mind really went full force there. I majored in theater arts. I dance ballet, tap, jazz. I performed in at least three productions a year. I played the piano and the violin, and I took choir private lessons.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I applied on Indeed and received a call back. I believe that life gives your opportunities and sometimes we are not ready to receive them. It has not been easy, primarily due to my lack of self worth in the past. I have learned to cope with life on life’s terms, and that we can be whatever we set our mind too.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spots in the city are the Beach of course. I love Coronado, Mission Beach, Sunset Cliffs, La Jolla Cove, Solana, Carlsbad and of course Oceanside. I love theme parks so Legoland, Sea World, Zoo, Safari, Belmont park.
I live for the nightlife in Hillcrest and Downtown!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Oh wow I have a long list! Mrs. V rest in peace. She was my instructor in cosmetology school. She would describe the side of me that I couldn’t see. I would like to give a Shout out to my Uncle Juan Tijerina and my ant Rosa Tijerina.
They welcomed me into their home when I was going through some dark times and helped me gain discipline and experience unconditional love. I will forever be thankful. My grandparents for always being there no matter what.
And of course my parents for doing their very best with me!
I can go on and on but I would have enough space on here so I will summarize it down to; everyone that has been a part of my life. I have gained the experience I have today because of it.
