We had the good fortune of connecting with Indian K and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Indian, what do you attribute your success to?
The People! Without the support I wouldn’t be where I am and still growing.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I make music.I am a storyteller who tells his journey. I have been rapping since I was about 13 and didn’t take it seriously til about 2011. The road was long and I’m still not where I want to be. I didn’t release an Official project until 2017. Once I released it things started moving but it wasn’t until the following year when I released My second project and within months a collab project that my journey fully picked up speed. I ended up on Tour and getting booked for a lot of shows locally. The biggest thing I learned is consistency is key and treat people right. I want the world to know I come from struggle and my story I use to motivate those who grew up like me which is why I created Go Win. It’s a motto to live by and know it’s gonna be hard but GO WIN!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
honestly I am a homebody if I don’t gotta go out lol but We would definitely eat at Filippi’s pizza in Esco,Oceanside beach maybe go downtown and have some drinks not sure where,I don’t really go out lol definitely Mission Trails and Torrey pines .some of the most interesting people to me are those with postive energy and make you wanna smile and laugh most fun I have is on my Reservation(Rincon Rez) cuz of the outdoor vibes and being one with nature.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout My Big Brother and guys like Big Fraze who helped me get into Being an Emcee.
