We had the good fortune of connecting with Ilse Hendrix and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ilse, how do you think about risk?
For me risk is everything. If you want to succeed and grow, you have to try new things and go out of your comfort zone, otherwise how do you know you are doing it wright? how can you compare your work to your own work if you dont risk? or if what youre doing is the most convenient way for you to keep doing it. Risk its been super important role in my own personal carrer because ive been able to discover other ways of working and knowing how things work better for me and how can i be better.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Im Mexican and im a singer, i make music and im a composer as well. I have a project called Ilse Hendrix, you can find my music on the platform of your choice. I love to combine the two languages spanish and english and im super excited because during cuarantine i recorded an album, my first one so im very happy. It has not been easy at all to get to where i am and i am still not close to where i want to be, but life is about the journey isnt it? So i try to enjoy every moment of the processes i live in my career. Everything that happens to you bad or good is a learning, at least i try to see it that way so its easier to overcome challenges. The most important lesson ive learned is that life is too short, do what you really love and share it with the world, do not overthink stuff. I want the world to listen to my music and have a good time, thats it.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ill take her to have breakfast and coffee in Lardo, one of my favorite spots in Mexico City, walk through La Roma and La Condesa and go to all this little independent stores of vinyls, clothes, vintage shopping, go to visit el Castillo de Chapultepec and to la Marquesa forest to do a hiking. To museo Soumaya. Then to have dinner at Maximo Bistrot very delicious restaurant and is there is a party well go for shure.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes, if you want to go fast go alone, but if you want to go far go with teamwork. Thank you to XYX Music, my family for support and all the people who listen to my music, without them nothing would be the same.
