We had the good fortune of connecting with HowFlyy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi HowFlyy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I was thinking Jay-Z and Diddy. How can I transfer my music into a fully fledged business model? I studied what they did and realized music is just a step to a higher platform to do more things. I want to be an icon and leave a lasting impression not only through music but every avenue of entertainment.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My artistic expression is hip-hop music . My sound can be described and slick, smooth and melodic over trap drums and dark samples while still giving an energy that makes you move and really allows you to step in to what it means to be “Flyy”. I got to where I am today by being consistent and present in every opportunity that has been thrown my way. Ive always done music since a kid and after graduating college I moved to LA with nothing but a backpack now almost 4 years later here I am running my own company and writing music for labels with my friends. If theres one thing Ive learned along the way is to always be open and vulnerable enough to fail but to have the strength to take chances and stick to your guns. What I want the world to know about me, being HowFlyy is that we all can be Flyy just got to find our wings
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite areas in the city of LA I would say are Silver Lake/ Mid Wilshire and Downtown Hyperion Republic in Silver Lake has some of the best drinks and appetizers . For drinks Perch or Pilot Downtown , real swaggy rooftop vibes. The most exciting people to me in LA are the ones like me who came out here on a mission and a dream. Those are the type of people to have the best time with.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Definitely want to give a huge shout out to Longhaul Music Group and the good folks over at The Arcade Los Angeles!
