Meet Holly Tran | Co-Owner of Poshe’ Lash & Skincare

We had the good fortune of connecting with Holly Tran and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Holly, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
This is probably a common habit that most business owners have but I believe my habit of always putting 100% of my effort into my business is what has helped my small business succeed in such a competitive field. As the years go by, I have experienced many hardships and unpleasant experiences with customers and employees. If I’m being honest, these experiences have made me question whether it was time to quit or not. However, through it all, my business is as successful as it is today because I was able to overcome these adversities and strive to provide the best quality services to my clients.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I wanted to start this business in order to provide for my family. In the beginning, it was just a nail shop and because my daughter was so young, I had to bring her with me. We no longer do nails but now provide eyelash extensions, facials, and waxing. We pivoted from nails to eyelashes because it was a new market in San Diego at the time that we started, and the nails market was oversaturated. We are efficient and offer a competitively low price for lashes with only a 60-75 min service time while also maintaining excellent quality. Our lash extensions are the most popular with our clients because they like our beautiful and overall simply flawless look without it looking too heavy.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My family and I tend to visit restaurants around the City Heights/Convoy area of San Diego. In City Heights, our go-to restaurant is Minh Ky. There, we love to order their egg noodle and white rice noodle soup dishes. In Convoy, whenever there’s a party, we love to pick up some mini Asian meat pies from a Chinese bakery called Tasty Bakery. On my days off, I enjoy taking walks around the various beaches in San Diego, especially Mission Beach.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To my lovely daughters and our wonderful pets. Thanks to their love and support every day I am able to continue doing what I love.
