We had the good fortune of connecting with Holly Richardson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Holly, do you think college made a positive impact on your life and career? Do you think it was worth the price tag?
My college education made appositive impact on my life and my career. It was definitely worth the price tag. While at college, I took more opportunities and overcame greater challenges than I would have elsewhere. This gave me not only skills for successfully running a business but also the mental fortitude to handle professional and personal problems. Taking a long view with the cost of my college education really helped. It has more than paid for itself over many years. Not everything needs to happen immediately. Part of the positive impact of my college education was the fact that I worked for 6 years between my B.A. and law school. I had better paying jobs than I would have had otherwise during that time.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
AeroMarine Products sells industrial supplies including epoxy resin, mold making silicone rubber, pour foam and encapsulating compounds through its website and its brick and mortar warehouse in San Diego. What sets AeroMarine Products apart from others is our exceptional customer service! We do whatever we can to help our customers get the right product for their application, even if it means sending them to a competitor. We use in-person appointments, phone calls, email, social media and live chat to engage with our customers. As a result, we have many customers who have been with us since AeroMarine Products began in 2008. Getting to this point today was anything but easy. I learned through my jobs as a cold caller for Bear Stearns, a purchasing agent for Hughes Aircraft and as a civil ligation attorney, the importance of putting other people first. This doesn’t mean being a doormat. Instead, I saw the value of humbling myself in order to understand what the other person or entity needs. This is crucial when solving a problem for a frustrated customer.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Joy Hawley, whom I have known since high school, is a lifelong mentor. She lives a life of faith, strength, humor and hope even in the midst of difficulties. The book, Not A Fan by Kyle Idleman, made me realize the importance of true commitment over casual observance when it comes to my faith.
