We had the good fortune of connecting with Hazel Bloom and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hazel, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
My end goal is to be a world-wide touring musician. Ive always wanted to make music that gives you a feeling of euphoria, and makes you feel fully connected with yourself and others around you. I personally think theres no better feeling then hearing a song you fully connect with. Hearing an emotional instrumental composition, mixed with relatable lyrics gives me a sense of euphoria and allows the listener to really connect to the artist. Id love the chance to build a community of likeminded fans and play music for people that feel the same way I do.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My music is a blend of pop, emo, and alternative rock. I am heavily influenced by 2000’s emo/pop punk/alt rock as well as new age pop music. This blend of influences I believe help my brand and music stick out to listeners. Ive been playing music and been in bands for over 10 years now and its what i love to do. If youre doing what you are passionate about and what you love, the challenges dont seem like road blocks. Everyday im doing exactly what I love and learning along the way. The biggest lesson ive learned is to be exactly who you are and dont be afraid to put yourself out there. You will fall, and you will fail, but those lessons make you a better artist and person. Dont let anyone tell you what youre doing isnt cool, or you should change. I spent along time trying to change to what people told me i should be or how i should act or what music is cool. The people who you surround yourself with shouldnt try to change your interests, what you like is what defines you and you shouldnt let people try to change you. Be yourself, and the right people will find their way into your lives.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There’s so many places I would like to bring someone visiting. I feel you can do anything in LA, if i could make a lit vacation i would add hiking in Sequoia, snowboarding at big bear, dirt biking in Joshua Tree (I know all those are outside LA lol). Cara Cara in DTLA would be a definite spot for food, all of arts district for drinks, check out WeHo for shows/concerts. I love exploring as well as food and drinks so its hard to narrow all of this down as Ive found so many good places all over LA, but i think that would be a good start.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A lot of my success is directly related to a lot of other people other than myself. Id be no where with out the support and mentorship of other people. To keep it short my family, friends, fans, the whole alternative emo music community, and anyone who’s ever even given me 2 seconds of their time. I owe all of my success to them and couldn’t be more grateful for all of their support.
