Meet Haley Diedrich | Owner of HD Beauty

We had the good fortune of connecting with Haley Diedrich and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Haley, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think risk taking is essential for growing in life and in business . I graduated esthetician school and started my business in 2021 right in the middle of covid. I work very closely with people so starting a business like that in the middle of the pandemic made it that much more of a risk. I took a risk to go off and start my own business and do it all on my own rather than working for someone else. But that risk came with huge reward, I have built up an amazing clientele and I am in a studio I absolutely love.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a Licensed Esthetician and Certified Lash Artist. I specialize in eyelash extensions which is the process of applying synthetic lashes to the natural eyelashes to create a fuller, more dramatic look. I am very passionate about what I do and have always had a love eyelash extensions. I have been getting mine done for about 6 years now and I love that I was able to make a career out of my passion. There is just something about the instant confidence boost you get after you get your lashes done and I love getting to share that feeling with my clients everyday. My job is very rewarding and I love helping people feel confident and beautiful in their own skin. I think my passion shows through my work and that’s what sets me apart. It definitely hasn’t been easy but I have been able to take every challenge one at a time and figure it out. From building a clientele to perfecting my craft to even learning all about business and marketing, it has been quite the journey but I am still learning and growing everyday.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well there is so much to see in only a week! We definitely would have to have a beach day! We would go to Mission Beach and lay out, ride bikes, and get Luigi’s At The Beach, they have the biggest, best slices of pizza! One day we would go to balboa park, it is so beautiful and there is so much to see there. They have flower gardens, water fountains, and a beautiful pond perfect for taking pictures. There is also so many museums and activities to do around there. Another day we would go get pedicures from my favorite place Sparkle Pro. Then we can have a relaxing day at Santee Lakes walking around catching up and then get lunch at the restaurant that sits right on the lake its beautiful. We both love to shop so we would go to UTC mall in la jolla. There is every store you can think of at that mall and is perfect for a shopping day. We also would definitely need to go to Mavericks Beach Club one night and get drinks and catch up with all our friends.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Everyone in my amazing family deserves a shoutout. I definitely wouldn’t be as far as I am in my business if it wasn’t for them. Starting any sort of a business is hard and there were a lot of challenges I faced along to the way especially through covid, but anytime I faced any sort of a problem they were always right there for me to help me figure out the solution. I can’t ever thank them enough.
