Meet Gio Vicente | Videographer & Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Gio Vicente and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gio, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
My end goal is to be on an NFL sideline or training camp with my camera. I couldn’t get to the league as a player so hopefully I can by filming.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The journey was far from easy. I spent countless hours watching YouTube tutorials, doing free work when I needed money, facing rejections for media passes, and receiving little recognition at first. This experience taught me to focus solely on what I could control, trusting that the rest would fall into place. It’s heartening when people approach me, expressing their love for my work and encouraging me to continue. I want the world to know that I take pride in doing things the right way and staying true to myself.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to Royal Mandarin because I love Chinese food, and their salt and pepper chicken wings are goof. We’d visit Sunset Cliffs, La Jolla Cove, and explore Coronado Ferry Landing Park. These spots offer some of the best views in the city.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, I want to thank my family for encouraging me to pick up a camera. I’m also grateful for Justin Truong, Rashad (CaliCamera), Bird Davis (Birdsvisionphotography), Nicole (Nicole Noel Photography), David Frerker (David Frerker Sports Photography), and RK2 Photography. They offer invaluable advice, push me to improve daily, and help me find opportunities to showcase my skills. Lastly, I must thank Coach Mo (Head Coach of Mar Vista Football Team) and Coach Will Gray (Head Coach of Hoover Football Team) for allowing me to film their teams and helping spread the word about my work.
