We had the good fortune of connecting with Fritz Fayman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Fritz, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I worked in data entry and jobs like that for my early careers out of college and I was just not good or happy with it. It was nice making some more money but I was miserable. I hated going to work, it was draining, and there was no socialization. It was something I just couldn’t continue. I found my way into being a teacher of school of rock and then being a musician and it was much more fulfilling

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am very proud of our music. Our band, The Reckless, started officially during COVID but really didn’t get going till our drummer, Riku, joined. He joined in about late 2022 early 2023. Since then we have really tightened our sound and improved our abilities. John joined us in Fall 20203 to round out our band. He has allowed us to create much more interesting guitar lines and give me, the singer, a lot more freedom live. This business is never easy. There is a lot of luck involved as well as skill. You must work hard everyday and take risks to see what works and what doesn’t. There is a lot of teaching yourself. It’s not like a traditional job where you can have a boss who mentors you or something like that. We want the world to know that we are coming out with new music every couple of months and our newest single, our cover of Sexy Back, will be an awesome new addition to our music library.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well when it comes to food I would take them to Tacos el Gordo for sure. Some of the best tacos in San Diego. We would go to Petco Park to watch a padres game and maybe even snapdragon to watch a Waves game. I would take them to Ponces one time for dinner as they have awesome margaritas and solid food and is overall a great environment for a large group of people. Definitely hang out at the beach. Kinda hard to go wrong at any beaches in San Diego. Mission Beach, Solana Beach, Torrey Pines, La Jolla shores, they are all good.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wanna thank our management and my band members for all their help and belief in our project. Makayla Wardrip, Rodrigo Bars, John Kelly, Riku Myllykoski, Michael Kennedy
