We had the good fortune of connecting with Felicia Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Felicia, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
After designing various events for family and friends, over the last 3 years the overwhelming desire to put my love for event designing motivated me to put my passion into a business, thus Simply Put. I realize that designing is one of my favorite things to do! Not only do my designs put a smile on my face it puts a smile on the face of others!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My clients are my biggest inspiration, so each event is designed based on their specific needs. Rather it’s designing a Table Setting, Baby Shower, Wedding, Birthday, or Business; Simply Put creatively brings my clients special event into a creative reality. The ability to keep it simple and individualize the client’s event is what makes Simply Put unique.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
San Diego has several great spots. When family and friends visit here are some of my favorite spots to go; Salt & Straw, Ferry Boat ride to Coronado, Balboa Park, Phil’s BBQ, Las Cuatro Milpas, and the Hillcrest Farmers Market.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family and closest friends have been an amazing support system. My son in particular, always offers words of encouragement. They assist in every area that I need help, I could’ve asked for a better support system.
