Meet Eden Jimenez | Visual Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Eden Jimenez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eden, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
Choosing to believe that I’m a talented artist. Telling myself every day that I am as great as I believe I can be, Having that confidence has allowed me to pursue what I love without holding myself back. If I ever find myself questioning if a piece is worth sharing, or if it’s good enough for others to see, I tell myself “Well of course it is! I’m a great artist!” It has also pushed me to keep learning and keep strengthening my skills. If I’m going to force an ego, I’m going to have the skills to back it up.
Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I draw a lot from my own emotional experiences. Putting force my happiness, my pain, my sorrow, and anger, it speaks to people in a way I didn’t expect to see. My art becomes relatable to others through those emotions that are being portrayed.
Through sharing my art with others and staying consistent I have started to grow my following and clientele. It’s not always easy to stay motivated and consistent, or to share such vulnerable parts of myself with others, but remembering my “why” keeps me moving forward and building. I believe the constant support from loved ones and the encouragement and support I show myself help me face those challenges head-on. Realizing these challenges are only as big as I make them makes them easier to overcome.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, the LACMA of course. I could spend an entire day there alone. You’d find a wide variety of works spanning across centuries there. The Broad as well. Not only is the building itself stunning, but the museum shows some of the most incredible contemporary works within those walls. I would also recommend checking out the Arts District. There are several beautiful murals throughout the district worth seeing and it’s full of small galleries, oddity shops, cafes, and other fun hole-in-wall spots.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family and friends for sure. They have attended every show, shared my work with others, and encouraged me to keep pushing my dream. They have truly supported me every step of the way and continue to do so as I grow. Even now as I start building a brand around my work they were the first to shop my online store and are always asking what comes next. I couldn’t do this without them
