We had the good fortune of connecting with Drew Seldin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Drew, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
The main idea that people outside of the event industry are unaware of is just how many moving parts go into putting on an event like Comic Con Revolution. We are planning the next years show before we open the doors on the current years show. We always have one eye on the current event and one eye on the future if the show.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Comic Con Revolution is a family friendly annual event held at the Ontario Convention Center. We launched the event in 2017 with a desire to share our love of all things pop culture with the Inland Empire. After years of working for other people my partners and I wanted to take a chance and build a show in which we were able to call all the shots. Our venue, our guests, our staff, our marketing plan. We knew it wouldn’t be easy (because if ti was everyone would do it) but it has definitely been worth it . Seeing our vision come together and being able to produce an event that continues to grow and delight attendees year after year makes it an amazing dream come true. It can be very challenging at times to build an event like ours, with so many moving parts things are bound to go off the rails on occasion and they certainly do. When that happens, you need to stop, think and solve the problem. Rely on your past experiences and the knowledge you have accumulated over the years and believe in what you are doing.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The Inland Empire is amazing and offers so much for people to do. The scenic beauty of the area is something I would want to share. A hike into the San Bernardino National Forrest would be on the top of the list. Definitely go for steaks at Flemings in Rancho Cucamonga. Of course they would have to come to Comic Con Revolution and his Katie-Jakes in Covina for live music and drinks.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
