We had the good fortune of connecting with Eboni Muse and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eboni, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I found a love for the arts starting in elementary school during my first talent show. The ladies who ran the after school program were sisters and they sang semi-professionally, they saw I had a talent for singing and I sang in my very first talent show and the rest is history.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My voice is my instrument and sets me apart from others because I’m the only me! I use my voice; my art to connect with people. I allow it to tell a story that no one can tell but me. And I’m proud of that. I’m also proud that I continue to be myself; unapologetically Eboni Muse. I don’t shrink in the face of adversity and I love without limits. I mean, love has gotten me where I am today, along with perseverance, a great support system and blessings. It definitely wasn’t always easy. But if life were easy we’d all be bored, right? I don’t think anyone in the arts has it easy but you can’t let other people deter you from the path you’ve laid out for yourself or determine what’s right for you. As you go through life you will always run into folks who think you can’t succeed and/or who want to watch you fail. I say keep standing in my way, I love a good challenge!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
San Diego has so many wonderful areas to frequent, but my favorites are any and all the beaches. The Asian cuisine in the Clairemont/Kearny Mesa area. New Village Arts in Carlsbad for theatre.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Parents Ernest and Pamela Muse. My Theatre Mom Leigh Scarritt, Miss Cynthia and Miss Renae who had me sing in my first talent show. All my Family and Friends who have supported me along this journey.
