We had the good fortune of connecting with Draya Love, MBA and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Draya, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Balancing my life and work has been something that has shifted with age and experience. As my body showed me it’s requirements, I learned to heed the call for a more balanced version of me. This required me to see all that was going into the state of wellness and how that showed itself in various ways in my reality. I used to think that balance came only from what we could see. Now I know all the invisible things that go into managing the flow of what is a healthier version of me. Internal care, and time with my body has become very important.
Getting up early enough to feel like I don’t have to rush feels important. It allows me to fit in self care to my routine; stretching, meditation, writing, drawing, gardening. I need those things to make sure I stay grounded each day.
Taking time to listen to what my body needs and allowing space for healing and rest is really important. Energetically cutting cords from the day and people so I stay balanced and in my own energy. I am seeing especially with how much others can affect us and it is a must to cleanse our energy to stay aligned.
Also the type of work that I do has changed and I believe to be more congruent with what I am supposed to be doing. This, as a part of the balance has allowed me to feel like work isn’t work. Doing something I love and working for myself has been key in manifesting the reality that feels like a balanced life through meaningful work. I am moving strategically and slower, allowing more space for the universe to guide my journey with ease.
Life doesn’t have to be as hard as we make it.
Learning to listen to all the little things that aren’t little and making the needed adjustments.
We can have a work life balance, I am grateful for that gift.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is growing and flowing. I am grateful to work with people, guiding them into their greatness. Recently starting a non-profit, The Art of Life University with my brother, Hulu Amen Ra. Teaching and expanding people and their knowledge base so they can live their best lives. We have acquired a large a storefront, The Hidden Spa in Ocean Beach. It has been here for over 20 years and we have expanded services exponentially. We are a comprehensive wellness spa that offers solutions for people at wherever they are in their journey. We are all seeing clients at the Spa regularly and assisting them in the process of getting well (internally and externally). Offering classes and workshops for expansion, growth and health. I typically work with clients for 3 months at a time so they can get the groundwork for healing and have the best chances for success. Meeting people where they are at with unique tools to help people cope and unpack the baggage they have been carrying around. It is incredibly rewarding for people to share how much freedom they feel after working with me; in their lives and in their hearts. Seeing people become happier in their lives is so inspiring. It is the gift that keeps giving.
My brand, Draya Love is expanding. My website is so helpful for people to work through the details of the journey; supporting products and answers for the deep questioning. Take a look and see what may help you.
I have also expanded into artwork this year. Transformational in all ways, it is to assist us in reprogram our bodies through artwork. It is available on my website and can be ordered on many mediums (shower curtains, phone cases, pillows, canvas etc… check them out. (So much fun.) I love to create. I love my life. I love my reality. I am so grateful and excited for the expansion of my days and my soul. I love my work and look forward to continuing to create and share the fun.
