Meet Darren LaCroix | Author, Speaker, Expert

We had the good fortune of connecting with Darren LaCroix and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Darren, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Intention. Period. When your intention is to serve and you are ALL IN, magic happens. People notice, when you serve, people will be your best advertising.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Be a sponge! Go to people who are the best in your friend and in your areas of learning and be a sponge. Shut up and get your ego out of the way. Your ego will slow you down and keep you stuck.
As a wannabe comedian and keynote speaker I learned, “Stage time, stage time, stage time, and day you don’t get in stage you don’t grow.” Get clear on the one habit that will lead you to the breakthroughs you need.
I grew up dreaming of making people laugh, but I was quiet, shy, naive and not funny at all. I listened to well-meaning adults and put that dream aside. They lied. I was told you can learn many things, but you can’t learn funny. They lied again. After a business failure in 1992 I took the stage at a Boston comedy club and bombed miserably. I got one tiny laugh and never looked back.
Fast-forward nine years later, I competed against 25,000 contestants from 14 countries to become the World Champion of Public Speaking, with a very funny speech.
Now, I’ve traveled the world speaking in every state and 45 International cities inspiring audiences with my story. I help good presenters and pastors to be Unforgettable!
Author of two new books: 17 Minutes to Your Dream (Inspirational) and Deliver Unforgettable Presentations (How to)

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Living in Las Vegas, I’d take them for a hike at Red Rock Canyon…lunch at the Venetian by the gondolas a Circ du Soleil… then to Lake Las Vegas for dinner.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To my mom and dad, who despite my big, crazy, ridiculous dream, loved me anyway. To my mentors Patricia Fripp, Mark Brown, Dave Fitzgerald and Vinnie Favorito…who believed in my before I did…and my Stage Time University Students who re-inspire me each day.
