We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney Finley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Courtney, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I knew I wanted to start my own business after working for someone else for so long and that it was time to start it. Also I wanted to be able to charge what I wanted to charge and make my own hours, basically be own boss!!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m an Organizer and an Interior Designer! I have a degree in Interior Design,I have a passion for art, design and organization!! I’m think that fact that I’m not only an Organizer, but I’m an Interior Designer as well, most people can’t really say that!! It wasn’t an easy road to get to where I am today and I’m still always trying to achieve more in business every day. It has it’s challenges both personal and business related, but again I’m always trying to move forward and strive for success every day!! I did learn a lot of lesson about what direction I wanted to take my business and how I wanted to run my business as well!! I want people to know that I’m Organizer and I’m always ready to help anyone get organized!!
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
I live in Southern California area in Oceanside, so I really like to spend a lot of time with friends in the near by costal cities, there are so many restaurants, bakeries, shops and beaches to go to and just enjoy!!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There were a few people along the way that helped me pave the way to make my business my own and then I fell out from them because it was time for me to go a different way! There were also groups that I joined and left because I thought they would help me, but in the end they weren’t groups that I wanted to be a part of because I was going in a different direction or rather a better direction! But I am part of a Facebook group that I really like and it’s really been a big help for my business during this unusual time.
