Meet Cassidy Kmetz | Fitness & Lifestyle Influencer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cassidy Kmetz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cassidy, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I truly believe that without risk, you’re settling for mediocrity which leaves no room for growth. And the driving force behind risk-taking is the fear of failure. But to me, failure is what builds character, expands the mind, and leads to the greatest ideas. Through risk-taking, I’ve failed a thousand times over. But all it took was that ONE risk that turned into a win and brought me to where I am today.
When I first decided to pursue a career in social media, I had all odds against me. I knew what I was up against. I was 18 years old just finishing my last year in high school and knew that the path I was embarking on was unfamiliar to most and considered to be “going against the grain”. One day, I literally decided to add “Lifestyle Influencer” to my bio on Instagram, only having a couple of thousand followers and no brand collaborations under my belt (which by the way, definitely got my classmates talkin)! I completely took on the role of an influencer and started providing real value to my audience and sending out emails to brands every single day. Of course there was a high chance nothing would come out of this and all the corny Tiktok dances and “Influencer-esque” IG posts would be for nothing. But one thing I knew for sure was that it was worth the risk.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My content focuses mainly on fitness, health and wellness but what sets me apart from the rest is the fact that I make a healthy lifestyle easily digestible (wink, wink). With a diet culture encouraging restrictive behavior and false beliefs, I make it my goal to show people how they can meet their fitness goals while achieving a balanced lifestyle and enjoying their favorite sweets!
The launch of my fitness app was probably the most exciting, surreal part of my journey thus far. I put a concerted effort into making my fitness plans easily accessible and affordable for everyone. I believe that everybody should have the opportunity to meet their fitness goals with the proper support and instruction to guide them. There’s nothing more fulfilling to me than getting messages from my followers thanking me for helping them in some way: Whether it’s helping them meet their fitness goals, become comfortable in their body, decide to finally put themselves first, etc. The ultimate reason why I do what I do is so I can leave a positive impact on as many peoples’ lives. And as long as I’m doing that, I’m living my life’s purpose.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
After suffering a near death experience with a Traumatic Brain Injury (from falling off of a skateboard), I realized how quickly life can get away from you and how important it is to show gratitude for what you have and work hard for what you want because you are FULLY capable of living the life that you dream of. I got really into health/fitness, fell in love with the idea of reinventing myself, and wanted to use my story to inspire others to live a healthy lifestyle and find the beauty in “starting over”.
Then I met my boyfriend, Joey. Joey believed that I had an inspiring story and a gift in me that was worth sharing with the world. Before we met, I was pretty closed off and would never really post photos of myself. Once we started hanging out, Joey would take thousands of candid photos of me until I found one that I believed was “post-worthy”. If we weren’t at the gym “getting buff”, we were probably embarking on some spontaneous adventure. Either way, both of those things had potential to create great social media content. Thanks to Joey’s encouragement and voluntary ‘photographer’ position, I started posting more and more on social media and sharing snippets of my life with my followers. Joey encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and capitalize on the opportunities for me to utilize my creativity/self-expression to share my story and make a difference.
