We had the good fortune of connecting with Casandra Higuera and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Casandra, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
My rituals for success are definitely the greatest contributors to my overall success and well-being. And what’s great about all these rituals is that anyone can have the ability to develop these habits. 1) Make a commitment to be consistent with the habits you want to cultivate for your success. Success is largely about persistence, discipline and consistent action. So have compassion with yourself when you are repatterning your life to live into your success through new habits. It takes patience, and you will not always remember or most importantly you will need flexibility to fit in your success habits in between all the new responsibilities that come with growth. Stick with it! 2) Flexibility – otherwise known as resourcefulness. I think this is HUGE and a little obvious given the current circumstances in the world. But you have to stretch yourself in order to master yourself and your success. So get comfortable with the unknown. “You don’t know, what you don’t know.” Be willing to take risk ( try new things, let things go), trust your intuition, ask for help and keep an open-mind. 3) Ask for help – get comfortable leveling up by seeking mentors that can teach you how to be better and do better. Conversely, simplify by asking or delegating to a team. You alone will not accomplish nearly as much beauty as when you allow others to contribute to your vision. 4) Your success is a reflection of your deep care and the service/gift you are providing for another. It’s an exchange of love. While it’s hugely important to share your passion and your love through your work by knowing your why, it’s critical that you know your worth and ask for the actual value of your product or service. Exchanging from the frequency of love and passion is priceless, so be careful not to undervalue yourself. This will drain you and limit your success. 5) Build Resilience – this may seem similar to flexibility; but this is more about building personal resilience, so that you have the capacity to handle being flexible in your business. YOU HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF AND YOUR NEEDS. If this means prioritizing meaningful relationships with family over work; then, do it. Maybe it’s just forcing yourself to take a break over a long weekend and putting away the devices. Whatever is important to you, write it out, rate yourself 1-10 in that area, ask what you could do or create in that area to feel more fulfillment and schedule it. For me this is surfing, or being in nature. This will make your success and your focus that much more rich, begin to cultivate prosperity from growing what is important to you with your business success. 6) Recharge your batteries throughout the day. This means acting on what you want to cultivate moment by moment throughout your work day and maximizing your effectiveness. This might be different for everyone; but most of my methods to recharge are scientifically proven to make you more effective, have more energy, intelligence, clarity and joy. So maybe you want to copy. -I meditate every day, sometimes in the am and at night. -I journal & focus on what I am grateful for, before I plan my day. -I practice HeartMath breathing in all transitions of my day. All tools are great, and I choose based on what will best serve the momentary situation or emotion I’m experiencing. -I take supplements to ensure I am getting proper nutrition, and I eat nutrient rich whole foods ( mostly warm meals ). -I use a planner, and I prioritize 3 things each day. Including sending love to someone. -I exercise or move my body for at least 30 minutes daily. -I do my best to drink 2 liters of water a day. -I have a routine of spiritual rituals were I clear the energy of my space and connect to reverence. And that’s it… Lol, you got this!

I had to learn hard that suffering is a state of mind, I had to have the courage to step into the unknown, and I continue to learn how to master my ego to repattern my physiology, mind and shift to a state of renewal by creating the emotion in my body. This took a lot of tools, and discover to peel back layers of condition and trauma that I didn’t even know was impacting my chronic pain, causing my suffering and blocking my success. Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love the variety and bounty of beaches and communities in San Diego. As far as food, it really depends on if they are vegan/veggie or not. I would start by taking them to La Jolla for a little Black’s beach surf and sun excursion and afternoon paragliding. Maybe stop by the Bella Vista for lunch. And a walk around the Salk Institute to peek at the Louis I. Kahn architecture. Then, if we’re not too tired, hangout at Trilogy and catch a yoga class. Then, cruise down, ideally on bikes to wind and sea to watch the sunset. From there, Beaumont’s for some live music and dinner. The next day, we’d go to Encinitas for breakfast at Pannikin. Bike down to the Center for Self-Realization and walk the meditation gardens, get some meditation in while we are there or go to Soul of Yoga for a sound bath or yoga nidra class. Once we’re done, Betty’s Pie Whole Saloon for a slice. Then, head back down toward Torrey Pines, driving down the 101 through Cardiff, Solana Beach, and Del Mar. Stopping for shopping as needed. Then, hiking Torrey to come back down the hill for sunset over del Mar. Closing the night out by checking out the galleries at The Station in Solana Beach, and a show at the Belly Up. The next day would start with a visit to Dark Horse for a snack and beverage before a yoga class at Sojourn Healing Collective. Then, ice cream at Mutual Friends (if it’s open). Next stop, Barrio Logan Las Quatras Milpas or ¡SALUD! for brunch or tacos. Balboa Park cruising on electric shooters, checking out the International Village on a Sunday, and tea at the Japanese Gardens. Zoo, Aerospace museum or Timken if there is time. From there, Coronado for a sunset walk on the beach or surfing by the base. Dinner at LeRoy’s. Maybe some interesting cover band at Pete’s. Closer bonus: Live jazz at Panama 66 or The Observatory North Park. That leaves out so much like Downtown, Little Italy, Pt Loma, Ocean Beach, Hillcrest, North Park, Carlsbad and North + East County; but so little time!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to send a very special shoutout to the HeartMath Institute and Master Trainers for their incredible creation of these tools, content and support to help myself and my clients tap into the infinite wisdom and love available to all us through the heart. They are truly incredible, as are the tools. Discover for yourself: https://www.heartmath.org/ Also, I would like to recognize my mom and my dear friends who continued to support me to build my programs and put myself out there. I could have given up so many times, and listened to the naysayers. But having love and encouragement empowered me through the toughest times to not give up. Please know that the path to success is hard, and unpredictable. If you ever need support or encouragement, I’m here for you. Send me an email.
