We had the good fortune of connecting with Britt Ramjit and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Britt, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
My absolute favorite quote is “everything happens for a reason”. I truly believe in what’s meant for you will find its way to you and learning to trust in the process of your life. For as long as I can remember I have always been a planner of my life — achieve this by a certain age, get married by this age etc. and now at 25 years old I have come to the realization that whatever is meant as my destiny will find its way to me. There is nothing I can do about it, I can’t speed it up, I can’t slow it down, I can’t change anything because whatever that looks like for me, is meant for me and me only. It took a lot of ups and downs in life but I can finally say that I no longer plan my life out, I’m living for each day, doing things that make me happy, surrounding myself with people who make me a better person and working towards my goals.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
It’s crazy looking back to the first article I did with you guys where I was still in college about to graduate with not a clue in the world of what I wanted to do. I’ve always loved art and being a creative person is in my soul. Honestly, I’m most proud of how far I have come in the last two years, I now work full-time for an amazing sustainable clothing brand, called Cleobella and I’m also a digital creator working with a variety of brands via social media. It’s safe to say I love the spot I’m in and have worked hard to get here, but there is still so much growth for me to accomplish and that’s always exciting. I love challenging myself, because at the end of the day — whatever challenge it may be, I always, always figure it out. That’s something I love about myself.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
To eat: North Italia, Bier Garden, the Taco Stand, Puesto, Herringbone, Pacific Coast Grill, Gami Sushi, Tocaya, URBN pizza. To drink (coffee/cocktails): lofty coffee and better buzz. For cocktails: The Roxy, shelter, union, mermaids + cowboys, pizza port, 1st bar, almost anywhere in little Italy! To visit: UTC mall, The Forum, Carlsbad outlets, Carlsbad flower fields, Fletcher cove beach, sunset cliffs, wineries in Temecula. San Diego has so many great places that are exciting and fun to explore — but it’s the company that makes everything all the better!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wouldn’t be anywhere I am today without the support and love from my parents. If there is anyone who believes in me, knows my abilities as a person and all that I am to become, it’s them. And if I ever start to forget that about myself, they’re right there reminding me!
