We had the good fortune of connecting with Brenda Jimenez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brenda, what’s your definition for success?
Personally for me success is not end goal and it looks like; peace of mind, sense of accomplishment and continuous personal growth. Peace of mind because you experience success not a the cost of others. Accomplishment because you are faced with challenging situations that you are capable to resolve. Lastly personal growth is always activated because you are preparing yourself for what’s next and simply enjoy the consistency of self development and improvement to be “successful”. That’s how I define success, success doesn’t look like a title, status or object to me. Maybe receiving those as a reward can have a temporary effect on feeling successful , but for me it is very short lived.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My career as a Real Estate Professional started by accident. I was going to school to become a nurse. I’ve always had a passion for serving others. I met a Real Estate broker while working multiple jobs and going to school. I’ve worked in sales in the past and he offered me a Marketing Assistant Role in his small boutique brokerage. I love learning the in and outs about real estate and the fact that is an achievable dream, even in California! I got my license within a couple months and was already helping people and closing deals. I’ve helped people from all walks of life, first time homebuyers, military, investors, down sizing/empty nesters, etc. What gives me the most pleasure is to hear from my clients that even though Real Estate is a business transaction(one of the biggest for some) they got to experience the humane aspect and grateful to know I always had their best interest in mind. And I think that’s what sets me apart from the many many Real Estate Agents that exists. I am very proud to gain lifetime relationships and trust from my clients at the end of it all! It hasn’t been all rainbows and butterflies either, every single home that I’ve sold and client I’ve represented has had its set of challenges in one way or another. I’m grateful to have these challenges as they’ve become valuable lessons. I think the challenge would be for anyone with a huge ego to put others first. Luckily, I’ve always had a strong work ethic and understand that to be able to have consistent stream of income your customers always come first! I want everyone to know that everything you want in life is achievable. It will just take a little bit of hard work, consistency and passion!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh man the possibilities in San Diego are endless! I love being outdoors by the beach. If it was their first time visiting I would take them hiking in Torrey Pines to capture all of the beauty our Coastal San Diego has to offer! But coffee first, in one of our many local coffee spots. My fave in North County San Diego is Lofty Coffee (Solana or Encinitas). Then grab brunch nearby on Claire’s on Cedros that never disappoints! Then get prettied up and grab some Craft Cocktails at Raised by Wolves in UTC. Then head down to Little Italy seat at the Piazza Della Famiglia and people watch while we wait for our dinner at Born and Raised. San Diego is interesting period. The cultural diversity, Mexican and Spanish influence, it’s geography, weather, architecture, should I continue? But I think you get the point!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Find your tribe and your support system if you don’t already have one! I am lucky to have an amazing family that has been very supportive and sometimes thinks I am crazy but give me all their support anyway! Especially my older sister Claudia she has always been the best older sister anyone could ask for, always believing in me and protecting me since I was a young kid. I also have the best group of girlfriends that honestly are pretty bad ass and I admire each one of them and their qualities! I’m always learning from them and its very encouraging when you surround yourself with this type of energy. And lastly… “I want to Thank Me for believing in me” *In Snoop Dog voice* I just had to do it! hahaha… But yes I do think you have to take the credit, because you are the driver to your own destination. You put in the hours, time and you decide what type of energy you surround yourself with!
