We had the good fortune of connecting with Billy Economou and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Billy, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking risks is very important and it is key to growth and happiness in life & business. For me it was very scary to start a new business. The fear of failure was definitely present to the point where I actually wanted to quit before I started. If it wasn’t for the encouragement of my wife to take the risk I wouldn’t have taken the leap of faith but I did and the rewards and success have been immeasurable. This has further encouraged me to take risks within my business. Venturing into video production which was something completely new to me a few years ago has completely taken off to the point where clients contact us soley for videography. I’ve also grown a team/brand which has been able to handle multiple events on a single day. The fear of letting go and not being present at each event was real, but I have come to realize that a solid team is even better an individual. Bringing different people’s strengths together has been key to building a well-rounded brand!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Everyone has a story to tell and we love being the voice through creative photography and videography. We recognize that the experience and the product are equally important. We’ve achieved success as we consistently deliver in both departments and our clients love to tell others about it… which has lead to more success!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being from Winnipeg, Canada where you have long cold winters (and beautiful summers) I have always been a California Dreamer. I still pinch myself that I actually get to call this place my home. So naturally I love all things with that classic California vibe. Enjoying the sunset at Sunset Cliffs, surfing and eating fish tacos at Pacific Beach, or a night out in La Jolla or Little Italy are just a few of the many great things to do in this beautiful city.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I kind of mentioned it in my last response. But my wife gets a huge shout out! She is my rock and inspiration and always encourages me to be better. My awesome & talented team… from photographers, videographers & editors!
