We had the good fortune of connecting with Bianca Schleicher and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bianca, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Wedding Content Creation was just a whisper when I was planning my wedding last year! I thought it seemed like a cool idea, but never thought too much of it since I had a full media team for my wedding and thought my friends could just take photos and videos for me. But the day after my wedding, my husband and I were looking for photos and videos to post to social media to let everyone know we were officially married and they were hard to track down! I knew we would have to wait a week or two before our Photographer and Videographer were able to provide any sneak peeks. Once I did get some footage from friends or family the quality was all over the place due to different types of resolutions from different phone formats or there were not as many video clips as I had hoped for.
Our media team did an amazing job, which consisted of two photographers, and two videographers, however, I still felt like I was missing some of those in between more candid moments of such a planned out day! Our wedding had a lot of personal touches with decor, hand made items and some special guests (including llamas and storm troopers) that I would have liked with guest interactions and between my husband and I.
As the year went on, I kept going back to this thought about how I wish I could have had more wedding clips. This led me to start my own wedding and event content creation business BTS by Beee in October 2023. I did not want any other brides to feel the same way that I did by missing out on these types of candid moments from their wedding day so that is why I decided to go for it.
I capture everything with an iPhone 15 Pro Max and I provide my clients with all their photos and videos captured within a 24 hour time period. Edited content is delivered within 72 hours of your event. This usually means a highlight video of your event ready to post to social media or one of those viral TikTok transition trends.
While working at these events, I want people to live in the moment. I will be there to help document all of the design details to the guest perspectives. A wedding day goes by very fast, and with how much planning that goes into it why not document as much of it as possible.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As Wedding and Event Content Creator, it is my job and privilege to be at anyone’s wedding or big event in their lives. This is a big day for many people, and I am there to help capture additional raw moments through a candid perspective. We are there to help provide another angle that is geared towards social media, but it does not always have to be for social media and that this is something I always let my clients know, that not everything needs to be seen. It is really up to them to share however much they want, or they can give me permission to share.
Behind the scenes content creation is here to stay, it is not just beneficial for the couples, but a highlight to all the vendors’ hard work that goes into these big events!
I am not just a Wedding & Event Content Creator, I am also your cheerleader, your hype girl, your assistant to bring you tissues, water and snacks but most importantly I am your friend. I do my best to connect with my couples on our initial calls, and really hope that my work and moments carry through my work ethic.
I also really have a passion and an eye for anything photo/video related as my background is working as a full time photo retoucher and post production manager at a fashion apparel company.
I enjoy being there for these big milestone moments in people’s lives and my favorite parts of the day are just seeing the couples interact with one another on their wedding days surrounded by their friends and family and watching parents and friends faces light up when they are truly in the moment of capturing their child’s birthday party or special performance. It truly makes my heart smile when I am there to capture those moments and when I get amazing reviews and feedback from my clients.
People need to know that we are not just people with an iPhone shooting a wedding or an event, we are artists as well! Although we are not the same quality as a professional videographer or photographer, we strive to highlight your best features and spend a lot of time not only at your event, but after your event, going through and editing all the footage captured. We need to be able to upload, store, and back up all our content as well. We spend a lot of time finding the right songs to go with your videos and spend hours editing everything down into the perfect 90 second reel. Working a full time job and doing content creation on the weekends is definitely a balancing act. It can be a challenge at times, being on your feet all day, barely getting time to eat or snack, it can definitely be exhausting but I ultimately love weddings, meeting guests, seeing how creative people get with their decor! It makes me so happy to see the love, admiration from family and friends radiating on such big eventful days. I wish I could do this full time, but ultimately I have a life outside of content creation too!
Lessons I have learned from the Wedding Industry and other Wedding and Event Content Creators is that there is currently some dislike towards us as being the new vendor that has to share a space with the Photographer and Videographer teams and I have heard some unpleasant stories about Photo and Video teams being rude to Wedding Content Creators. Before I book any events with new clients, I always let them know to ask their photo/video teams if Wedding Content Creators are okay within their contracts. Before an event I also introduce myself to their media team through email to give them a heads up that I will be there as a 3rd angle and that they will always have priority of the day. If you do encounter a Wedding or Event Content Creator, just be kind, we are all there hired by the client so let’s make this an enjoyable and memorable day for them.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love to travel and explore, and when I can’t I love to try new spots and hang out in my own backyard of Los Angeles, but LA is very big and there are so many cool spots to go to! There is always some kind of event going on or some new place to try or some new spot to hang out. My number one place to take people to for their first visit is Griffith Park Observatory for the amazing 360 views of LA and the Hollywood sign. On a clear day you can see the coastline of the beaches. And the no brainer to also visit would be Santa Monica pier for an iconic southern california vibe! The beach is beautiful and pretty peaceful since it’s such a wide stretch of beach. Santa Monica Pier is always a fun place for the iconic pier rides that you see in movies, but also all the shopping you can do on 3rd street promenade. Grab a drink and appetizers at Misfits Bar or opt in for a nice dinner at 1212. From Santa Monica you could either drive up north up the coast to Malibu for some great luxury dining with great ocean views. If you head south down PCH, you may find yourself in the beach cities! I grew up in Redondo Beach. If you get a chance to walk the pier or along the boardwalk, there are beautiful views of Palos Verdes and if you find yourself in Riviera Village, please check out Yellow Vase for the cutest little coffee cafe! If you keep venturing south towards San Diego, this is also one of my all time favorite cities to visit and also where my husband and I got married. I highly recommend spending a few days in San Diego to check out the Zoo, La Jolla Beach, Gaslamp District, Little Italy, Liberty Station, and Balboa Park with all the museums and gardens. Socal has so much to offer and each city has so much to explore I could go on for days! 🙂
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Honestly my husband, Broc, was a big support in trying out this new business venture. Before I started out, I had a long conversation with him to see if it’s the right time to start something like this. This would mean the sacrifice to our weekends, travel plans, and family and friend time. He just told me to go for it, and that I was already taking so many photos and videos of our daily lives and travels that this made so much sense for me to do. So I really thank my husband for giving up our time together, and letting me start this business.
The other person I really want to thank is my wedding photographer, Pauline Conway, who has helped me so much through the wedding planning process as a Bride but also now as a wedding vendor and a friend. She really helped inspire me and supported me from the start.
Her encouragement and guidance on how to start and where to start, as well as helping me connect with Brides and other wedding industry professionals to help me grow! I have been lucky enough to work with her for one wedding already and a few portrait sessions and I can’t wait to work with her again soon. I just adore her, her work, and what she stands for as a female owned photography business, but also an amazing mother. Thank you so much Pauline!
Lastly, I really have to thank my first few couples, wedding planners and other wedding industry vendors, who took a chance on me starting as a newbie back in October 2023. Without them I would not be the successful business owner I am today. I really appreciate the love and encouragement that I have received from all my new vendor friends and past clients! And thank you to my clients that have already booked me for your events this year and 2025! The trust and connections I have with you all, makes me so excited and so happy! Wedding & Event Content Creators are wanted and needed and we are here to stay!
