We had the good fortune of connecting with Aurora Vilchis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aurora, what matters most to you?
I absolutely believe in the the motto, humans first, business second. I have met dozens of business owners throughout my creative career and principles that align with our brand is the notion that businesses exist to do and give their talents and gifts to the world. If we can all be fully authentic and live in to who we were all made to be and do, the world would be fuller.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a visionary. I work with businesses and brands across the board. I have worked with corporate financial companies, Airbnb hosts, life coaches and the like. My aim is to envision what someone has in their head and how that translates to paper (or in my case, web design, social media aesthetics or photo shoot vision and direction). Throughout my journey, it took me some time to find my niche and found that I loved helping others and being able to make that a full time business has brought on many late nights, taxes, learning from other business owner and creatives and trusting my gut in what I charged and what myself and my team were capable of fulfilling.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So Cal is the shit! So there are so many options. I’d say an out of towner would love to be by the beach and my favorite is San Diego sunset cliffs. We could head north after that to Oceanside and check out another small business I love called Rising Co Coffee and east of that is a favorite area called Temecula, I’d take them to visit in Old Town and eat lunch at Eat Marketplace, a locally sourced, health-conscious eats, & smoothie bar and perhaps a yoga class at Home. A day in nature and wellness is what I love to spend time with others doing.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am not naive to the fact that I have an abundance of support and love around me. My family (husband particularly) roots for me and my business and endeavours. As a little girl, my mom supported any career that I chose and my closest and best friends have come with me for brand photo shoots as “clients”, styled and given input for design and decision making and celebrate with me with each new mile stone like adding on an employee or booking a dream client!
