We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashlee Ann Jensen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashlee Ann, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Work life balance is an interesting thing because so often it feels off balance. You put more energy and focus in one area and the other area falls a bit. I strive to implement systems to make the “balance” feel less stressful while also giving myself grace when all the things just are not going to happen. I really think as a woman and mother the thing that has helped me the most is living in tune with my cycle and knowing when to push and when to chill. This helps me to feel more balanced within and helps me to know that there is a time for everything. Its just knowing and understanding where my body is at so I am not overly exerting myself leading to burnout.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is in reflecting back life to my audience and sharing the synchronicities that impact me, in hopes to help people find more meaning and connection in their own lives. I am a big believer in divine timing and everything happens for your greater good. I think what sets me apart is that I am not afraid to talk about vulnerable things and I am not trying to be like anyone else. After loosing my husband at 27 with an eight month old daughter I found myself having to completely start over and I shared a lot of this journey with my audience, the good the bad and the ugly. I was fortunate to find this community who was so supportive and the biggest cheerleaders in the building of my new life. There have been so many challenges to overcome and I find that when I am proactive about my mental health and shifting perspective, business and life seem to flow so much easier. There have been many times where I find myself in a slump of negativity or fear based thoughts and i’ve had to be really clear with myself on how to protect my energy, and how to help myself clear my energy when it is feeling weighed down. The big message I want to reflect back to the world is that no matter how hard life feels, no matter what your circumstances are, you can dig yourself out and create the life you have always dreamed of. There is hope on the other side of pain and if you can hold on to a sliver of hope you can get yourself out of any situation.

My husband and I married august 2020 and moved to San Diego June 2022. We bought a home with an orange grove and in an effort to not let any of it go to waste we have been drying out our fruit and will start selling it soon! this has been a fun side project we have been working on with our kids and we are so excited to see where it takes us. Stay tuned for Jensen family farms.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
San Diego is such an incredible place with so many things to do and see. If I was picking my friend up from the airport I’d take them to liberty station for lunch. Its such a fun vibe and theres something for everyone. Then we would go to Cabrillo National Monument. I absolutely love this place, if you go over by the tide pools theres some gorgeous hiking and stunning views. Then for dinner we would grab food ( maybe tacos from Johnny Mananas ) to go and watch the sunset at sunset cliffs which might be my favorite spot in town.

The next day I’d love to take them to Coronado to bike around. Starting at hollands bikes and then taking the Bayshore bikeway is a great way to see the town. We love Garage Buona Forchetta for lunch and then biking around the town ending up at the the hotel del and spending some time on the beach and grabbing drinks. The neighborhoods are so charming and its so fun to see the town on bikes.

There’s such good shopping here in San Diego so if i am with a girlfriend stopping at the mall will be a must! Utc and fashion valley are the best spots. If shopping isn’t our vibe i’d take them to Powerhouse park for a picnic and to lay in the sun! There really is so much to see and do depending on what you want out of your trip.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband and mother have been such huge cheerleaders for me. They have each shown up in my lowest moments and been grounded support. I am eternally grateful for their constant love and encouragement on my journey.
