We had the good fortune of connecting with Armon Harvey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Armon, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
It’s a constant battle especially when your vision hits a road block that seems impossible to over come. I simple just pray and think of all the community members that will positively benefit from it when I do over come that obstacle. That’s what keeps me going.

What should our readers know about your business?
The Harvey Family Foundation is a non profit organization that caters to the needs of low income communities meeting them where they are through resource events, sponsorships and mentorship.

We focus on creating path ways to success for families in need as well as youth.

None of what we do is easy and it gets harder as time goes by with finding the funds to be able to meet the needs of the community. It’s a non stop hunt for grants and donations as many people suffer from lack of basic resources.

One thing I want everyone to know is that is a community based organization that is made by the community for the community and will forever live in the community never to be bought or sold. Will always be here for the people.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
You can’t visit San Diego with our trying Humbertos taco shop on 43rd Street. It’s a must stop for food. I would for sure take a trip to sunset cliffs as well as mission beach. There are so many great places to go here in San Diego with amazing views like Kate sessions park or hikes like cowles mountain or Torrey pines.
Must check out Moms Chicken and Waffles in side U31 in north park or food truck like Chef Budda blasian cuisine.
San Diego Zoo and museums is a must stop and gaslamp for the night life.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to thank God and his grace because with our that I wouldn’t be alive doing this interview now. I also want to thank my family for always supporting my vision and being there through all the ups and downs and last minute plans that pop in my head. My HFF team who put in work to make my visions a reality and all the organization that support what I stand for and give me a place to make dreams come true like Anna Arancibia of the Jackie Robinson Family YMCA.
