We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anna, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I am inspired by the power of human connection. My passion is bringing people together and building relationships through consciously curated events and retreats. I love getting to know someone’s true authentic self. Real human connection is felt when you exchange stories of experiencing life’s lessons and can been seen and heard. I believe that we are all mirror reflections of each other and the exact same lessons we might be learning are often seen in someone else. These days we are so “plugged in” to our devices that we are disconnected from the power of in-person human interactions. Being immersed in the present moment in one-on-one or small group settings allow for us to be creative, cultivate meaningful connections, and be in the vibe of like-minded individuals.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have always been an advocate of maintaining a healthy work-life balance. It can help improve your overall physical, mental, and emotional state. I was in the corporate event planning industry for over a decade and to decompress from the hustle and bustle of my job, I turned to travel. Hopping on a plane and landing in a foreign country allowed me to experience new cultures, get out of my comfort zone, and most importantly connect with new people. Yoga was another way of managing stress, but had always been “just exercise” until I made the mind, body, and spirit connection after attending a yoga retreat in Bali. This discovery led to a profound revelation of self-care after being introduced to meditation at the International Yoga Festival in India. Since then, I’ve immersed myself in the health and wellness space understanding different modalities of energy healing, natural medicine, and healthy eating. Through various synchronicities and divine moments, I decided to follow my soul’s passions and created Synchronistic Life: Consciously Curated Events & Retreats. At Synchronistic Life, our mission is bringing people together. We support teachers, practitioners, corporate groups or individuals who are looking to host a group retreat. All of our retreat planning services make your life easy and stress-free. We understand that it is difficult to be the host AND take care of all the behind the scenes items. We handle all the logistical planning so you can focus 100% on your program and attendees. Having attended numerous wellness retreats and working in corporate events, I know what you need for a successful experience. From venue selection, meal planning, program coordination, transportation, and local excursions, we plan every aspect of your customized retreat. I truly believe that group retreat experiences remind us how to be free, authentic, and present when cultivating meaningful connections with others and most importantly yourself.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
We are so lucky to have the ocean, mountains and desert at our fingertips in San Diego! My favorite spots are Tourmaline Beach for surfing and Cabrillo for tide pools with stunning scenic views. A day trip out to Mount Laguna to hike the Big Laguna Trail takes you though a forest and a beautiful meadow filled with wild flowers. Anza Borrego Desert State Park has amazing rock formations and slot canyons to explore and it is the perfect spot for stargazing! Before heading out to any of these places, stop by BFD (Big Front Door) in University Heights to grab my favorite gourmet deli sandwich in town. Balboa Park is another must do! Check out the museums, botanical building & koi pond, or catch a live music performance. These days, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a distancing picnic with your friends. Pick up takeout food right by the park at Common Stock for the best fried chicken sandwich or Goi Cuon for fresh spring rolls. If it happens to be a Sunday, stop by the Hillcrest Farmer’s Market to pick up seasonal produce, local artisan breads, cheeses, kombucha and so much more!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A big shout out to all of my fellow San Diego female entrepreneur friends! They have given me so much support through words of wisdom and encouragement when I started my own business. They continue to inspire me each and everyday through their passion for sharing their unique message and gifts. I am so grateful to have such amazing and powerful, visionary women in my life.
