We had the good fortune of connecting with Angie Chan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Angie, what is the most important factor behind your success?
At Voguish Lash, by caring and being consistent to our lash extensions clients and mentoring lash artists with a high standard and quality, this has made our brand successful. By having clients excited to come for their professional lash extensions appointment and lash artists training to be confident for their new lashing career, they share their experience with others and that is how any business builds a reputation and grows. –
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Eyelash extensions is one of the newest trends in the beauty industry. There is always new knowledge, techniques, and products that come out everyday. I am so proud of myself to have the passion to keep learning and growing day by day. Since I started. I am currently a 7 certified lash artist. I continuously take many advanced lash trainings and attend several lash conferences each year to gain my lash knowledge and meet many lash industry influencers to assist our lash community. I have chosen to take all these trainings because my client’s natural lashes safety are a priority, having the most updated knowledge, and trying my best to be a perfectionist is a key to success. I have been part of this lash industry for 5 years, but it feels like a way longer journey than that. I have always set a super high standard for myself and at times, I’ve doubted myself and wanted to give up, but I pushed myself to become better. Doing lash extensions is like working a piece of art. You have to be creative and each design or set of eyelash extensions is different for each client. Not just in the lash industry, but in anything, you set the bar for yourself and how high you want to go and achieve. Knowledge and perseverance is what makes you different from the rest.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Having travelled to many states in the U.S and many countries, San Diego is different and unique in its own way. It has a blend of nature, a blend of the city life and there is always something for someone to do. For a nature enthusiasts, I would suggest walking to Oceanside pier, La Jolla Shores, Coronado beach during the day and night time because the beaches stretch for miles and the weather is always perfect to walk. For the foodies, I would suggest going to Convoy for asian food. The street stretches by blocks and blocks of asian restaurants. For mall enthusiasts, I would say the primary malls to go to is La Jolla UTC and Fashion Valley mall. Last but not least, downtown has Sea Port Village, the Midway carrier ship, and the Convention Center. The typical landmark stuff to do while you are in San Diego. Enjoy your stay in San Diego!!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
