We had the good fortune of connecting with AILA COMLA TIBAYAN and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi AILA, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
My work-life balance has not changed over time. I started working when I was sixteen years old in the entertainment industry. I was a radio announcer with a part-time job as a dubber and I usually ended up working until the wee hours of the morning. I became a workaholic – just to realize when I hit maturity that I missed half of my teenage years. Why? Because, I got burned out, especially because the working environment was not what we thought it would be. I got tired of it and I missed out not only with friends and activities but family gatherings as well. As I grew old, I realized that BALANCE has a vital role in human life. We need to have time for ourselves to discover new things in the real world. We need to pause, never quit, and carry on.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a professional host, events planner, and entrepreneur. I believe that what sets me apart from others is the approach I take in how I deal with my client’s needs and how I execute events. It may not be perfect because there is no such thing, especially in our industry but it is how you deal with the challenges along the way. I am always excited to have projects since I only choose what fits my schedule to manage my time for my family and work. I am enthusiastic to work on new things that will develop and enhance my expertise as a planner. As a host, I am happy that the audience will participate and stay till the end of the program. Overcoming my challenges, was not that easy journey but taking it lightly and learning from it as an experience gave me things to discover different aspects in this industry. I want the world to know that I as AILA COMLA making great events happen and this is my story.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First of all, our Almighty God has given me so much strength to face all the trials I am going through. The support of my husband in everything I do. My children are my inspiration to keep me going. My true and real friends for loving me for who I am. And of course, my dear mentor and friend Obbie.
